It's the GPU for numerous iMacs from late-2017 to 2019 and 2019 Mac Pro, it's fully supported by Monterey.

DP problem could be a misconfiguration of OpenCore or even a GPU firmware mining/gaming mod. It's a macvidcards flashed RX 580?
I have two AMD Sapphire RX 580 Pulse. I use it with OCLP 0.6.1 and Monterey 12.6.3.

The first I bought new as a Mac compatible version. It works fine in a MacPro 3.1, 4.1>5.1 and a 5.1.

The second I bought as a used version from the Chinese market. I can start it up in all three MacPros but the card is not accelerated and not recognised as a Metal compatible card.

All MacPros recognise the manufacturer and model number but cannot assign a kext file.

Before I return the card: Could this be due to the Firmware, and, would copying the Firmware from the compatible card to this variant possibly do anything?

This is a known issue, exact same case as the Chinese market RX 560 that I wrote back in 2018/2019 in the first post of the BootROM upgrade stickie:

Usually most AMD Radeon RX 560 models available on the western market works with MP5,1 and Mojave, but not the RX 560 made for the Chinese market since this card have less CUs and a different PCIeID than the real ones and Mojave doesn't know how to configure it correctly.

Besides the lower number of CUs, your incompatible card have the PCIe ID 0x00ef instead of the expected 0x00e7.

These Chinese market RX 580s are almost identical with the RX 570 8GB video cards sold in the western markets. I don't know what you can do since I never had one of these cards on hand, maybe you can try to manually configure OpenCore to spoof the PCIe ID of the RX 570 - I'd try that before returning the card, but since it's something advanced, you probably won't want to do it and returning the card is a better choice for you.

One thing weird is that the card is being identified as x4 when installed with Slot-1, this could be a problem/defect with the card.

Maybe a card from the American or European market, even a Mac version, would be the better choice.

Your are right. I will send it back.

The card looks pretty used.

Thank you for the information.
