Hello every, I have a Mac pro 5.1 from 2012 its a 12 core. My question is I purchased a backup 12 core cpu tray on ebay. I slid the tray in & push power button and it seems to be dead the fan doesn't go on after a few tries i got a click sound nothing else. Im thinking its one of two things.The thermal paste on the cpu's are dry or the cpu circuit board tray is burnt or bad. So I put my original cpu tray in and mac boots right up. ebay seller is giving me a hard time he doesn't want to give me a refund. If anyone has experience with CPU traies feel free to respond.
