That's cool... I know this a little older thread... but do you happen to know which plist? Which OS versions?

More in line with the thread. Disabling SIP, then doing the Firmware update process works. I re-enabled SIP... but that probably isn't required.

Be careful. Messing around in these files and not knowing what you're doing could cause your system not to boot. PLEASE make a full bootable back up before attempting to change anything.

All the info you will need is right here. I did it under 10.9 IIRC and it has stuck through 10.11 so far. If you're doing it under 10.11, you will need to disable SIP.

Thanks man... think I am good. ;-) But I agree with you, If you do not understand the purpose of SIP, or the files it protects, read up on them before trying at home.
 
hey I've replaced my card now with the stock one it worked after the same head scratching , after I install my new CPUs is it ok to put the gtx750 back in ??

I ask because why when this was in it would not upgrade firmware ? I don't want to put the CPUs in , then the non apple card and it then breaks down and melts into fondue....
