can we use CR2032 3V or better just track down an exact BR2032...Cheers!
CR2032 chemistry composition is not appropriated for the high temperatures below the GPU and the RTC will stop working in months, only replace the BR2032 with a CR2032 if you really don't find a BR2032.

Also, you could break the RTC receptacle if you have to frequently change the battery.

You are correct, I can see testimonials already on Amazon with folks who have Mac Pro 5.1 who used cr2032 and worked for a while and some broke receptacle changing it several times, just ordered it, not cheap around $13 compared to the other ones, Thank You tsialex, again. Cheers

I have installed the battery and it worked couple of times, and now it is back to shutting down when I put the computer to sleep mode. Should I do another reset ? Thank You.

There are other causes for the sleep issues, start diagnosing from top to bottom:

  1. macOS issues, do a clean install of Mojave on another disk and check if also happens there.
  2. NVRAM issues, dump the BootROM image and then check the free space available inside the 1st VSS store.
  3. install a known working PSU on your Mac Pro and check if you still have sleep issues.

Edit:

Forgot to add, Power Management logs (SystemInformation>Software>Logs>Power Management logs) usually save the last sleep failure, you can try to check it to see if you can narrow what is causing it.

Btw, do you have a Thunderbolt card installed?

I don't have a Thunderbolt card installed, I have another New SSD in SATA slot with clean install of Mojave with all the programs just in case something happens and when I use that as a start up disc, I can put it on to sleep mode and everything works fine.

I will go through the steps you recommended and will come back. Thank you again !Cheers!
