Mac pro turns slow, interface doesn't work properly grafic errors

Hi, I do not know why my mac got slow from nowhere. the interface works wrong when I open windows in finder I can not see them, and graphic errors come out .

I installed High Sierra (4.1 to 5.1) Photoshop and other applications They stopped working.

Mac pro (2009)
24gb ram
2.6 GhZ
Nvidia GTX 660

I have a lot of free space and the operating system is installed on an SSD so I can not explain why this situation

Probably a dying GPU.
 
What macOS High Sierra version and build?
Are you running NVIDIA web drivers, or is this native macOS driver?

sorry, yes im running nvidia web drivers (387.10.10.15.15.108)
my build is 17G2208

How does it ID in system report?

There is no reason that build should have been installed on a MacPro4,1 or MacPro5,1 unless you did something to force it. Several people are doing some strange hack that makes these machines ID as MBP or iMac lately, which really screws things up later on.
 
There are no web drivers for 17G2208. You need to fix your macOS version first. Not sure what hack you used. See post above.

uff, im just change the firmware to install high sierra (classic 4.1 to 5.1 on this mac pro early 2009) but i dont remember if i do something extra ..

how can I go back to 0? :O because i RE installed the OS a couple of days ago but this (Build) seems deeper ..

ok, im on 17G6030 and thats all, im using "default mac OS graphic drivers" everything is normal again but i wonder if my GTX is still working or just .. no xd

As noted, there is no web driver for that OS build at this time.

Check all your connections. Don’t rule out failing GPU.

Does this only happen when using mission control or any full screen app browsing mode? Does finder itself also display this way?

Post new screenshot of your OS info.
 
I think it starts when the CPU is overloaded, because when you log in everything is normal. but When you open Premiere Pro or when viewing .cr2 files my "friends" appears

the same thing happens to the finder

Authentic Adobe software?
Do you have any monitoring tools installed? If not, have you kept activity monitor open?
 
If you have a spare drive you could try a fresh OS, which would also patch your BootROM not being current. Might help starting from a fresh point to rule out software issues. Also, putting in clean Nvidia web drivers with this step....

This is the latest web driver for 10.13.6 with the 002 Security update patch.

Just a suggestion to eliminate a lot of factors.

yeah, authentic adobe software. and i dont have any monitoring tool. im checkin the activity monitor right now. i'll send a picture.


just installed the .124 webdriver (as Alex Sanders74 said) and it worst

Can you clarify:
.124 works or does not work?
Have you checked all cables?
Have you run an OpenCL or Metal benchmark test?
Have you tried running AHT (Apple Hardware Test)? May not work for this need but worth shot.
Have you reseated your GPU? Taken it out, cleaned out inside of case, cleaned out PCIe connection, and removed all dust?
How are you powering the GPU?
 
Artefacts like your screenshots show are usually caused by VRAM problems.

Even if you don’t have any problems with Windows this don’t eliminate GPU problems, macOS address the VRAM differently from Windows.

Anyway, perhaps you should do a clean install with an empty disk and eliminate any doubts about macOS or driver problems. My first step is always to compare with a clean install on the same hardware.

I just cleaned, changed the thermal paste (which was old) and checked all the connections. .124 is installed but I still have errors.

I'll do the openGL tests
The card is being powered by a 6 to 6 pin cable


I will try with an installation of 0, but what will happen with the bootcamp I have installed. If I install the OS again, will I still see the "bootcamp" disk in Startup disk?
(because I installed it in an unconventional way) Brigadier.exe on windows and all that ****.

It seems very strange to me since I installed in clean very recently
 
Just take a spare drive and do a clean install of OSX on it. Don't wipe the drive you're using. At least this will test for driver or software related issues. I suspect what tsialex is saying regarding a dying card, but at least a fresh start will tell you 100% for sure.
