MacAlly Bookstand for iPad

Ok, so I have been looking to see if other stores are getting this in and came upon this ebay listing. The price is too high, but they have more pics of this case. Pretty much every angle you could ask for. It looks like the leather strap provides a purpose after all, it's what secures the case in landscape mode. This is actually looking really good.

I'm also starting to think that the thin profile of the case on top of the way the case holds the iPad (on the corners), may make this case Apple dock/keyboard compatible.

The flip side to this is if the cover is folded back upon the case to use the ipad, the leather strap sticks out and that might be annoying.
Just ordered it from that auction - cheapest way to get a decent case right now in the EU. An alternative was the Quirky Cloak but it seems they dont even want to sell it.
Something tells me that the two cases that we all want to get but none of us has actually seen, are bound to be letdowns once they get in the hands of people.

the one thing i want to know about this case is how is the typing angle position. a lot of other cases have that angle but will fall down when actually typed on. I'd love to hear peoples experiences cause this looks ways better than the apple case but the apple case actually functions unlike some others.
Leo laporte on the tech webshow www.twit.tv today did a mini review of this case and he loved it. He has a lot of cases for his iPad including the official apple case which he hated.

It was at the beginning of the tech guy show. They usually rerun it later today or in the morning. The podcast might me up tomorrow afternoon and I will be able to tell you what minute of the video he talks about it.

Shucks. Yeah, I had the Marware one, so I'm already familiar with it.
It's a decent case, but in the end I preferred the Apple case.

The macally case still looks nicer because it doesn't cover the bezel. I'm not sure how exactly they're holding the iPad in place, though...

I just did. Just a tad cheaper than apple case and was immediately available. I am a little worried because noone seems to have the case in stock right now. I ordered it just in case and emailed them asking if it was indeed in stock or if there would be a delay from backorders or something. I'll prob still have them ship it to me either way. I like how it doesn't cover the bezel and it looks like it will be easier to get in and out of. I will post a review/unboxing/pics when (if) I get it from them. BTW, I am not even getting an ipad for another week or so, so I should have the two at just the right time.
It appears that the iPad is secured via the corners. I would think it "snaps" in, but I'll know shortly. I'm going to get lots of shots and post a pretty thorough set of impressions.
I'm thinking I'll get it on Wednesday. I like the overall look of the case from what I've seen, the keys are going to be how much bulk does the case add and what type of durability are we looking at.
Ehh, I ended up ordering one because I didn't order an Apple case with my 3G, and I don't want it sitting around without a case for a week or two. The Apple rep said I probably wouldn't see my case until May 7th...

I did the same thing. I didn't order an Apple case when I pre-ordered my iPad WiFi. A few days ago, I broke down and ordered an Apple case. It has an ETA of May 13?!?!?
I saw that MacMall had the Bookstand in stock, so I just placed my order and it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning.
From what I've seen, I think I'll prefer the Bookstand over the Apple case. I do like the rubbery feel of the Apple case. And, black is so classic. But, I can't get over that harsh edge on the iPad side. Plus, that harsh edge sticks out beyond the edges of the cover. And, while the Apple solution of securing the iPad is certainly more secure, aesthetically, I think the pictures that I've seen of the Bookstand is nicer. I just hope I can live with the gray. I'd much prefer a black case.
