>I would love my Air, but I would fall IN LOVE with the puppy. (advantage - puppy)
Easy - get the air brand new, and rescue the puppy. Everyone's happy that way. ;-)
You shouldd go for the macbook air because my neighbor's dogs are shouting every 5 minutes *arfawrafraafowrfifuahfuaaueofaih*
>With the Air, I can get my jollies surfing for porn on the internet, while my puppy may get his jollies on the rare occasion he decides to hump me or one of my house guests. (advantage - Air)
Yeah, but if you get sick of the porn, you can't have sex with the air. (advantage - puppy)

As a serious dog lover, there is nothing better you can do than to "rescue" a puppy.
This post is hilarious LOL. just get both OP
Another vote for the puppy.
I reject the popular conception that you have to get a rescue dog. I wanted a purebred dog, and feel no guilt whatsoever about it. I wanted a dog with certain traits, and I was happy to pay for it.
I think it's great if you want to get a puppy from a shelter, but I frankly feel bullied by some people with a holier-than-thou attitude about it.

What are you talking about? Nobody here had a "holier than thou attitude" at all. If you want to buy a puppy from a reputable breeder knock yourself out- nothing wrong with that. This has been a fun, good natured thread with no attitude being thrown around at all. There's a need for both breeders AND rescue organizations and I've personally been in a place in life where ive felt the need to utilize both and was glad both options were available to me. Only you can make that decision.
And you can rescue purebreds as well. I currently have a few boxers and have had great luck with my local boxer rescue organization (every state has a few). I also had great luck with a local reputable breeder recently as well. My point is having the option of how to go about getting your dog is a good thing- go whatever route fits your specific needs at that moment. Puppies, like this thread, are fun.
