SO TRUE!!!!!!!!
Heres a question. They didn't get it right last time, so tell us. How is the battery? Whenever you get a chance drain the battery and see how many hours you can get out of just using the internet or something like that. Take your time, I am just interested.
out of 10 what would you give? Also, I already have my own answer, but for college purposes, do you think it would work well?

to be honest... battery life so far seems about the same as the first model. i believe that they quoted it correctly with 4:30 battery life for light usage.... if your watching a hd movie it becomes a bit less.

128 000 000 000 bytes = 119.20929 gigabytes

7gb missing again, so hmm, looks to round down just like the "64GB SSD" did

Look up how HD's are measured for space, and you'll see EVERY HD sold is like that, SSD or classic spinning platter type.

Ouch!

http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc2=316751

This thing is going to a family member with a quickness. Remember how tests indicated no advantage over HDD when sequential? It still has a 20% advantage over the 80GB PATA! The random read/write is off the charts faster.

Looks like I'm gonna keep up with the Jones' on this speed bump.

The good side of the grass.

Three youtube clips rollin and a max screen saved mp4 movie brought it up to 83º rather quickly. Mind you I opened these up in quick succession - before the fan could catch up. Kept playing and with the fan catching up knocked it down to low-mid 70º's. Cloudy and chance of rain 40% tonight...

No dropped framed and processor stayed about 60% usage. Not really bad when compared to 1st Gen.

In doing migration, fans didn't kick on until it was about 80% finished. They ran non-stop at max. when doing the same w. Gen. one.

Still gets warm but not as warm as my 1st Gen. SSD is super quick and not used to the silence.

Will look for something to whine about.

When did you get another one? You were a Gen A MBA'er weren't you?

Lucky!!!

Thanks man.

You really showed me that I should stick to the old gen instead of thinking of this revB since it is not much of improvements for my needs at least.

I don't understand. THe link you show is just giving the exact same SSD 128 GB two times.....

Still got the Gen A. Filled up the 80G hard drive so figured why not get the new one. Will probably do some comparisons tomorrow..

Didn't you give me a hard time once upon a few months ago..;)

Never mind... I so would pay for this Air screen in the MB.

I said this in another thread:
1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less.
Nothings missing :)

Actually, NO. I know the difference between marketing GBs and actual GBs. Know what you're talking about before correcting me. I did some research, and it turns out to be a tech for prolonging the life of SSDs that sets aside 5%. Lenovo gives you 68GB on a 64GB SSD to compensate. OCZ calls it out. Apple just figures you won't miss it.

Here's the facts.

So much great info in this thread! How does the wi-fi seem to be with the new units? There were many complaints of it being difficult in the Gen A machines.

Good post, and great link. I am apple fanboy no. 1, but this is deceptive marketing by apple at its worst, ie at its stupidest, they should change that asap and offer some good explanation of why you ll end up missing those gbs...

I did in fact give you a hard time a few months ago (or was it the other way round?). Ready to break bread and declare a truce. :D
