I've just installed snow leopard on a Late 2010 MBA with 4 gig RAM. I did this so that I could install WinXP in Bootcamp. Now my question: what's the newest OS that I can update to that will preserve my WinXP bootcamp? Thanks for any information you can provide. -- Carl

I've been told that I can upgrade to High Sierra, but I'm dubious about that. High Sierra defaults to the newer APFS file format, which I'm afraid might make my WinXP Bootcamp partition unreadable. Thoughts?

Yes, your Air will take up to 10.13. No, it should not impact your boot camp partition. It should continue to function as it normally would. With 4GB of RAM, you will likely find 10.13 to be decent on your machine. 10.11 might be a better fit for it, but by all means, give it a go!
