Let's be clear... I don't believe I've read from any posters in this thread who advocated getting rid of all of your machines and replacing them with a netboook. Clearly, that is not what they were designed to do and be.
They are not replacements. But they are; extremely portable, inexpensive, fun to hack around on (and to learn to do this) and completely functional even when hacked with OSX (and I'm speaking about the Dell Mini 9 here).
Like everything else, they are not for everyone, to be sure. However, don't be so closed minded as to not see the possible benefits and upside of these machines, especially if you haven't actually tried one. If you have tried one and it's not for you, then you have your answer. Until then, keep the option in mind as a fun, inexpensive alternative to hauling around a bigger MacBook, a heavier MacBook Pro or a much more expensive MacBook Air.
The great thing too, is that if you buy a Mini 9, hack it (which is easy) and don't like it, you will almost certainly be able to sell it for at least what you paid for it.
