Macbook Air Shuts Down Shortly After Login

Hi,

My Nephew has contacted me about his 2014 ish Model A1466, saying that he switches it on and it shows the Apple Logo, then it lets him enter his login details. The progress bar moves for a short while, then it just powers off. Does this plugged in and on battery.

Any ideas.

Have him restart in Safe Mode by holding down the space bar while booting. Keep pressing until the progress bar appears. Report whether the laptop boots or shuts down.
