Horrible. I abhor jabbing at my pc screen with a finger. That's why we have trackpads and mice.
I'm rocking with windows 8 on my rMBP. I've not jabbed my display yet :p

I've all but disabled the metro interface with Start8 by StarDock.

I'm not sure what will happen if I were to get the SP3, which is both a laptop and a tablet and the live tiles do have some usefulness.

I joined the Mac family with a desktop 2 years ago and kicked myself of why I havent done it earlier. Everything seems so snappy, responsive, and love the look of the OS.

I recently got my first Mac notebook and it has been an adjustment for sure coming from Windows laptops and figuring out remote desktop and the simple things like available space, control panel ,etc.

I really like the screen on the SP3 but I chose a Macbook air yesterday over pre-ordering one due to the keyboard and track pad and just the OS of a Mac and knowing that it is future proof in the Mac OS and resale value staying high.

SP3 is a great looking device though with a lot of potential.

I think the SP3's resale value will be much lower then the Macs. Just will be. I view this as a throw away product. If it doesn't suit my needs in one or two years, sell it for what I can and move on, in 3 to 4 years there's going to be no market value and just hand it down to my kids.

I also agree it has a lot of potential, and to be honest, I'm still obsessing over the purchase. I've cancelled my pre-order, since I didn't want it shipping (and charging my credit card) before I really finished figuring out what I wanted. For my usage patterns, I can see the SP3 being a plus, but not a huge plus, meaning my rMBP suits most of my needs.

I was referring to the MBA as the high resale value, not the SP3.

I was on the fence as well and we commented a lot on the same threads so I know its a tough call.

3 days in and I know I made the right choice as the MBA is an amazing device. Great battery life, portablity cant be beat, and the OS system is much preferred for me over the windows.

I wish ya best in your tough choice.

Still dont get it how any one can be impressed with s3 ability to pretend it is good tablet/notebook combo.

For tablet: 800g of weight - enough said
For notebook: need to use stupid stand, crippled keyboard

What I see is compromise device.

How about this
For tablet: It can run any apps that your laptop have
For notebook: It only weight 800g

This is not a good device if you only use it for tablet purpose or notebook purpose. But you can have both with one device, with nearly same price as macbook air.:)

I understand what you are saying but for me it ticks every block in why not to buy something. I can't think of a hybrid device or product that excites me or that is useful. Hybrid cars, all season tires, etc. all make me cringe.

still the same discussion, you have two in one, both worse than specialissed items - it is not good tablet and it is horrible notebook... my point of view, maybe you do see it different:)

The SP3 is actually good for notetaking but most modern people use a pen (or pencil) and paper to take notes.
