funny--I write for a living, typing up to 30,000 words a day and I didn't even notice anything weird about the MB keyboard even though I used a desktop my entire life before that

I've had my MacBook for a little over three months now and at first the Macbook keys took some getting used to; now I think they are great.

I was kinda sketch about the keys on the keyboard before I bought my MacBook, but it is honestly one of the best keyboards I've ever typed on. The look and feel are slightly different, but I love it. That said, I definitely recommend venturing to your local Apple Store or trying out a friend's computer.

i personally love the macbook's keyboard more than any other laptop keyboard i've used. a lot of people here will tell you the same, and a lot of people will tell you otherwise. there is no better in this regard; it's all about preference. go to an apple store, and check one out for yourself. try not to look at the keys, because the gaps can be visually disorienting at first. and give it a little bit of time. you might find, like me, that it feels just right.

I write for a living as well, though I'm not quite as diligent as 30,000 words per day. I think the macbook keyboard is great. The trick is to lighten your touch a little and allow your fingers to 'float' and slide from key to key. Because the keys are flat, it feels different from ordinary keyboards, but very nicely different. It really is about individual preference though - go check one out if you can.

Typing on the macbook is effortless. It only took me a few minutes to get used to my macbook (I usually use a full desktop keyboard). You can either type or you can't.

Did anybody realize that this thread is almost a year old lol? :D Funny, how threads come back to life like that. When I first saw the design of the Macbook keyboard I found it visually pleasing, but thought it would be tough to type on, but after playing with them at the Apple store, it wasn't so bad. Of course I don't own one so I don't know what it would be like to use one everyday.

I love it. It took a little while to get accustomed to it, but once I did I loved it. It’s all a matter of opinion and I was weary about the gap at first. I have a hard time typing now on anything other than my Macbook. I work for the chat department at my company so all I do is type all day. I type faster on my Macbook now!!!:D
