Hi All -

It's getting closer and closer! I ordered my MBP about 5 hours after the keynote, and my estimated ship date as been Feb 15 from just about day one. One of the front page stories implies that some folks got/have an estimated ship of Feb 7 (that's been pushed to Feb 10).

I thought it might be useful to create a thread to track the first official "shipped" status reports. I'm interested in knowing what your current estimated ship date is (mine is still Feb 15 on the order status page), and am particularly interested in hearing the first reports of anyone whose status changed to "shipped"! Post 'em here if you got 'em.

Mine is still the 15th, I ordered Keynote day 1/10. So I should be in the first batch of them going out... - I have been told that is possible that it will ship tomorrow the 10th as well.

Only time will tell.

Will update if anything changes.

ordered Jan 10, 2006 at 01:41 PM PST and i have 2/15 as the ship date. arriving 2/23.

Ordered on 1/20...ship 2/15 and arrival 2/23. But according to my dream last night it arrived this morning. The UPS guy must not know this yet.

Yea i am the same person.... Im encouraging all others who ordered on 1/10 to call up and see if they get the same answer.

FWIW, I decided to go ahead and call and see what they told me. Still quoting me "on or before the 15th". I ordered the morning after the keynote, so I don't know if that has any bearing or not.

I'll just have to wait and see, if it shipped on the 13th and arrived on the 15th I'd be a happy man since I could take it on a business trip I'll be on that week. If not, at least I'll have a nice toy to play with when I get back. :)

Either way, I think that's the last time I'll bug the Apple store folks until my ship date passes.

It may just be for 1/10 orders who knows... but that's what 5 different people have told me.

I hear people have called in to bump up the shipping to 2 day but someone has said that since these are coming from China, and there really is no way for Fedex to do "2day air then to fedex ground" that the shipping is pretty much 2 day no matter what.

has your order status page updated to reflect this? just wondering if its just an apple rep giving you the answer you'd like to hear to keep you happy for a few more days or not (not that updating/not updating you order status page means too much anyways with this specific product).

I ordered mine on January 16, 2006 at 7:59AM (pst) and mine is holding steady at feb 15/feb 23 for ship/delivery. Im ready to see what happens tomorrow too, since the earliest ship date as of now is the 10th (moved back from the 7th on that day).

Oh yeah, and this might be of some interest. We have all been wondering what has caused this delay in the macbooks shipping. The most prevalent idea i have heard to date is that the battery was not ready for production just yet (since it is the new Lithium-Polymer battery) and they needed the extra time to tweak it to get the most out of it (new variables...less power req for chip, brighter display, more power req video card, etc). I ordered a few days a backup macbook pro battery, and even the extra battery isnt supposed to ship out until the 23rd. I really dont think that many people ordered extra batteries, but there are not too many reasons why there would be this big of a delay in shipping for them if they were production ready before the macbooks were. Just a speculation...

I have also heard this from several other sources. Shipping options from China are very limited. I ordered a nano on the day they came out, and with laser engraving, they told me it wouldnt ship for 4-5 days. I had it at my place in Texas in 4 days (from the time i ordered). Apple does well with shipping, but I personally think the upgrading to 2 day delivery over free shipping is a trap for impatient people that are willing to pay more, expecting to get theirs quicker. I may be wrong, but we'll find out in a few days (fingers crossed) if the 2 day upgrade meant anything.

Oredered 30 min after keynote: still 15/feb arriving 21/feb.

I've just called them and I was told that "It WILL be shipped BEFORE or at Feb/15.":D

My Web Order Status hasn't changed yet. But hearing so many different people tell me the same thing with me just saying "can i get the latest status please" is encouraging.

The 10th is looking like a good possibility. In the past I've had 99% of products i've purchased from apple delivered to me on the supposed Estimated Ship Date.

im definitely being very optimistic about this...i saw a post on another thread talking about apple's move from the 7th to the 10th. These 'books are coming, and if they are not shipping tomorrow, they will by monday or tuesday. A big company with a huge backorder of this nature does not take a release date that was set a month in advance (not really a set release date, but im speaking more in terms of the est. ship dates on everyone's order status pages) and move it back by just 3 days. Problems that could arise in this situation would take way longer than 3 extra days. If they were actually unsure about the release date, they would have said give us 2-3 more weeks, but with the 15th holding steady on most order status pages, the apple reps swearing by "on or before" the 15th, and also the update to the actual macbook order pages to 3-4 weeks (since thats exactly how long someone would have to wait that ordered today based on the later delivery dates), im guessing tomorrow or mon/tues for shipping =)

My Order for a shiny new MBP/CD/1.83/2/256/100.7200/APE/BT/BIES

Ordered 1/15 ship date 2/15 arrive on 2/21 no change although i think I saw the comma after the date move a space, that is a good sign :D

I cant wait for them to meet the demand and have shipping times within 24 hours. Then I'll order mine :)

Order mine on 1/31 set to ship on 2/28 arrive 3/3! I almost ordered mine right after the keynote speech but just couldn't pull the trigger. Now i'm upset with myself for not getting it. I would be sitting here waiting for next week! Instead i'm sitting waiting for 3 more weeks. Not fun at all!

Ordered mine on January 10 at 11:05am PST... estimated ship date of Feb 15, Feb 21 delivery.
It'd be awesome if they ship Friday or Monday and I get it next week....
