MacBook Pro - WWDC Update Likely and if so, what might change?

That's what I was hoping to hear, clearly there's definitely something in the pipeline. Do you reckon it'll be WWDC then, and not a later date?

The two things I'm interested in are the Merom CPUs and a Magnetic Latch for the case. The only thing that concerns me is the fact that Merom-equipped Laptops aren't likely to ship until late August (link

The fact that the link actually says we'll see Merom equipped models in late August has to tie in with an update at or around WWDC.

Apple have to keep the pro line at market standard now. That's the thing with the Intel transition. It's great that we can see the release dates of new chips, but it also means Apple has absolutely no excuse not to ship the best that's being offered.

And for what it's worth, compare this rapid release schedule to the PPC days. I was sceptical of the whole Intel thing, but regular updates are good news.

Yes, I have also heard about Merom being in consumer computers by the end of August. Anybody think its still likely to hear anything at WWDC? I really hope it isn't an announcement made during ParisExpo.

no chance. October, post-paris at the earliest. Let's look at Apple's track record ... it'll be a "one more thing" than, actually ship 6-8 weeks later. Go apple!
