What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Just let's hope there's not a f'n notch.
The whole notch rumor is driving people crazy. Im shocked Apple is considering the notch on a Mac now. Especially without Face ID? What’s the point of having a notch? However the whole Mac design was approved way long ago.

Very nice! What ya getting 14” or 16”?
Initially attracted to upgrade to the 16” form factor because of that screen real estate but I’ve gotten used to the portability ease of a 13”/14”. If the rumors are true that it will be the same chip on both (probably the 16” might get upgrade option bumps to 64RAM/8TB, but that’s just overkill atm for me lol). So, 14” sounds like the option in my case. Besides, I normally dock my laptop with 27” 4K displays, one of them being 144hz, hopefully Apple goes with ProMotion with support for high refresh rate monitors 🤩

lol we might be getting stuck with a notch. Camera bump might be next. Then Apple might say in 2022 the notch is smaller now so upgrade, haha!
Notch or not I am fine with since the screen area is getting a substantial upgrade, these were supposed to be mini led too? M1X and keyboard were always the more important upgrades for me.

I feel the same exact way. Maybe the notch is hidden under the bezels. 2 more days and it’s a wrap!

sold my 2019 16, 2017 15, macbook pros and waiting to get my hands on 16inch macbook and as much as i am ready to buy this .i think there will be no macbook pro event this year. apple will just try to excite us with their boring words, which they are doing i think from past few years and trying to push us to buy their subscriptions which doesn't mean s**t...

I am willing to bet a large sum of money that there will be a virtual MacBook Pro event, and it will be extremely exciting, and not at all boring.

Hopefully they announce the MacBook 14/16” first. Following up with the services or it could be the other way around. They will make us wait the last minute. Get ready to hear a lot about services and subscriptions.

passing on this one

the M1 Pro I currently have is still a beast for normal usage. I don't do any renderings or other computational heavy stuff, so I don't really need extra RAM and CPU power. 😉
I hear ya. I loved that MBAM1. It is a beast, like you said. A fantastic laptop. My main reason for wanting the MBP besides the processing power is the display. I use my laptop about 50% for photography and video, and the MBA display didn’t have the calibration or resolution I desired for editing. Not an issue while at home (except for the lack of native support for dual monitors), but on the road I want better. Hopefully the new MBPM1X will be similar to the iPad Pro display. 🤞

Yeah, at the end of the day it is not a big deal.

If they go Macbooks before services then there should be a hardware piece at the end. I am actually liking some of their TV shows so a services showcase is not too bad.

then what is the event for? Subscriptions? You’ve got to be kidding me. There will be a MacBook Pro event.

I won't be spending $3,500 on this hideous thing, just so we can have a better webcam and no Face ID.🤦‍♂️😡🤮

This is just wrong. 🤦‍♂️👇

If the camera dips into the menu bar (which typically has lots of unused space in the middle anyhow) so the screen can go edge to edge and thereby provide more usable content space without increasing the physical dimensions it sure sounds like the right tradeoff to me.

Please take my $3500.

Why would this bother you so much? It looks fine. You get more screen real estate than you would if they made the the entire top section black instead.
A good alternative to this could be to have a mechanical pop-up camera. So we can have thin bezels, no notch, and no need to cover the camera in any case.
The design itself doesn’t bother me but I think people are not feeling the notch. Otherwise get ready to people complain about the notch over and over. Notch or not I’m still going to place my order in.
