Another dissatisfied user here. The screens on these 2021/23 16" M Pros are definitely poorer quality and much more susceptible to permanent 'dimples' and blemishes than prior models. I've owned many MacBooks over the last two decades, why is that relevant? Because I have experience handling them and their screens, from office environments to AV productions.

I am also extremely obsessive about protecting my tech, I look after stuff because I despise damage on my things, especially expensive tech. Why is that relevant? Because it tells you I'm not the kind of idiot person who eats his dinner over the laptop and drops crumbs all over the keyboard before closing the lid, or the type of imbecile person who sticks a camera cover on their screen.

I keep a microfibre cloth in my protective macbook sleeve and only ever use it to lightly wipe away dust and prints from the screen from time to time.

My 16" M1 Pro ended up with a peppering of permanent blemishes in the screen, drastically wiping out it's resale value.

Now, my 6 month old 16" M3 Pro, also has a permanent mark in the screen. It appeared from nowhere as a tiny speck which I tried to wipe away but alas it is a perma-dimple, and noticeable while laptop is in use.

Sorry fanboys, it's okay to love Apple products and hold them to account when things are wrong. Why wouldn't you? They recalled and eventually changed their horrendous keyboard and brought back magsafe because they listened. These screens need to be more resilient, there is enough anecdotal evidence out there. People who look after their gear do so because they expect it to last, and nobody should be shafted out of thousands of hard earned money for so called 'premium' products.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, but do be mindful of how you express it. Whilst you may be dissatisfied, I'm not sure anyone here can help you, so maybe you should contact Apple to vent.

Thanks. I'm not looking for help here, I just wanted to contribute by sharing my experience for others who might have the same problem and are also seeking assurance, like I did, that it's not just them.

Well, that didn't take long, did it?
Content police of hurt fans has arrived...
Is this forum to share thoughts and experiences or just a happy zombie place for holding hands and singing songs about how awesome Apple is?

You can share your thoughts and experiences plenty, you don't need to resort to calling people idiots or imbeciles to do it.

Edited, sorry for offense. I work in IT and people return MacBooks covered in food and hair 🤢 People crack their screens because they close the lid with an adhesive camera cover on their MacBook screen 🙈

Sometimes truth is harsh and things have to be called the way they are without sugarcoating bull.
Else the world will remain where it is, or worse, degrade even faster.

I had my screen repaired by AMAC in the Netherlands after submitting a claim through the Apple website last year. Although my device was out of warranty, I was persistent in requesting the repair. The representative at my local AMAC investigated the issue, and after I paid the initial investigation fee, my device was taken in for service. My screen was subsequently replaced, and everything seemed satisfactory.

However, this week I noticed two dents on my screen while sitting in the sunlight. This recurring issue is very frustrating.

I am uncertain if I will pursue the same resolution process as before, but this situation is highly disappointing. What is even more annoying is the fact that Apple doesn't recognise the flaw with these screens.
