I'd love the get the black one but it's 200€ (~$265) more expensive than the white one. What a shame. Seems like I'll go for the white..

It seems you have answered your own question. But anyhow, the black si only $40 more once you configure the 2.0GHz white one with the same hard drive. If the $40 is worth black then you should get it.

I think the 80GB hard drive is big enough for me..

i just checked apple.ca (Canada) and they have CD whitebooks with 2.0GHZ 1gig of ram and 80 HDfor $1219. OR $1249 for C2D for the same specs. Is the $30 worth it?

Absolutely.

For only the price of a sunday lunch, you get a newer machine with the updated processor and Dual Layer DVD write capabilities, to name a few.

You can buy a 120 GB harddrive for less than Apple charges for it and install it yourself. You often get a longer warranty on the harddrive than on Apples computer, which is another bonus. Plus, you get a 80 GB harddrive to use as a backup drive or something (put it in an enclosure).

This is not possible with the black MacBook, so I'd say that the price difference is bigger than $40, even if you get the same harddrive.
