I highly doubt that Apple changed the iPhone's hardware in the six months after the announcement, in response to user feedback. It's possible that they have been planning some of these things all along, and simply haven't told us about them, but there's no way they said back in January "****! Better put a user-replaceable battery in there!", and then managed to do that by March.

Remember that any changes to the hardware would need to be finished in time for FCC testing.

I though Apple was pretty clear on their stand with no subsidized iPhones being sold. Wouldn't that conflict with the last rumor on the list?

A subsidy doesn't necessarily equal a rebate. Apple maintains strict pricing guidelines for their computers. Almost everywhere you look has the same price for the machine itself. Amazon has $150 off any new Mac, so technically the machine is being sold for is SRP, but in reality it's cheaper...

More memory is possible
User replaceable battery isn't likely as it would require design changes
802.11n is possible (but not practical as was mentioned) - Inclusion of 3G would be better speculation based on Steve's latest interview
iWork mobile... probably not, but there may be a reader/viewer
iTunes streaming might work over a local network, but then, why bother when you could just sync
iTunes Store isnt likely based on the interview
The rebate is likely

Because 4 GB / 8 GB isn't exactly plentiful in terms of storage. Imagine walking around your house, listening to anything from your iTunes library on your iPhone. It's the same reason AppleTV will stream media from an iTunes library - that way, the only device whose storage you need to upgrade is your computer.

I don't get the memory thing.

Are they saying the memory options would be MORE than 4gig/8gig?

Because that is how they are listed on AT&T's site, so I would think that is a done deal.

Yea, I'm sure since its listed on AT&T's site its rock solid concrete and can never change...

Anything can and will happen.

I find it highly doubtful that the iPhone will be anything other than what Steve has said it would be. Nonetheless, I appreciate the tip. Posted it on my blog just in case people are interested. Gonna head home from work right now, but when I get home I'll go over that post again and try and break down whether or not any of that stuff might be true. I'm still saying that's it's all a wild rumor.

When the AppleTV was announced (as iTV), a Hard Drive wasn't in the hardware...

Yes, but when the iTV was announced they told us it was still in development, and that there were features that would be shown later. As far as the iPhone goes, they've already told us what it's going to be. I doubt they're going to change it.

This will not happen, the FCC has already released the specs I believe, and I don't think that Apple can change much of anything without having to have it approved again.

If I remember correctly in the interview with Steve Jobs (him alone, not with Bill) at D, funny mustache man asked something along the lines of if Steve had any other secrets about the iPhone he would like to announce (or something to that extent) and Steve smiled innocently and said no (suggesting he in fact did have something but he wanted to keep it for WWDC)

They also bumped the specs on the first Macbook Pro before shipments began churning out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Steve bumped the memory of the iPhones, but then again I wouldn't hold my breath

More likely than not.

I would take my chances that they published the correct information on the AT&T site, as opposed to some completely unsupported and unsubstantiated rumor that it is going to be more.

Play it out 100 times and I am going to be right 99 times. But go ahead with your wishful thinking.

A secret feature could be anything honestly.

Upgrading a MBP before shipping doesn't require FCC approval. Changing the specs on a phone does. Sure, the MBP would need to get certified, but thats a walk in the park compared to cell phones.

Makes sense, since I am going to be holding this device against my head :D
If I am holding a MBP against my head, I am either passed out drunk or making a funny hat. :)

Exactly. The term hardware is the key. Like has been said repeatedly this phone would have to go through a (shorter) recertification by the FCC if the hardware changes. Being that the FCC is not exactly known as an airtight ship I think any changes likely to be seen will be in the software. For instance the "12th app" possibly seen on the commercial.
