these three things are attached to my El Capitan download. I don't want them and don't know how to get rid of them. any suggestions. thanks
Could you share a screenshot which shows how these things are "attached" to your download?that's exactly what i did......i registered on the site that macrumors led me to. i did it all properly and even discussed it with apple support this am.
Command-Shift-4 and select the area you want to screenshot, or press space to capture the whole window.i don't know how to do that.....

that's what i didthis is the only place to sign up; wherever you are, that's NOT the official page (mackeeper! ugh...)

seriously, what are you talking about. you must be the troll. i signed up for the beta.If you sign up on the official site as fisherking indicated no "things" will be attached to your download. (MacKeeper, oh my, you are wandering on suspicious websites).
thanks for your help but this forum seems a bit crazy. i did the appropriate download from the apple site.....unless there's a fake apple site which i doubt. some of the posters are not helpful. i think i will just go to the store, have the icons deleted and go back to normal...perhaps i accidentally clicked on something but i don't think i have the skills for this.Command-Shift-4 and select the area you want to screenshot, or press space to capture the whole window.
On Apple official website no MacKeeper is attached to the download. Will you please provide a screenshot where it is attached.seriously, what are you talking about. you must be the troll. i signed up for the beta.
then just leave me alone. i don't know how to do a screenshot, you accuse me of downloading from somewhere other than the apple site and you're showing self control. whoever you are, please, just ignore me. i'll go to the store and have this removed and go back to Yosemite and wait for the real download. no self-control needed.......On Apple official website no MacKeeper is attached to the download. I will refrain from calling you names, practicing extreme self-control for the first and last time in your case.
I already told you how to do a screenshot. Press Command-Shift-4 and drag your mouse over the area you want to select.then just leave me alone. i don't know how to do a screenshot, you accuse me of downloading from somewhere other than the apple site and you're showing self control. whoever you are, please, just ignore me. i'll go to the store and have this removed and go back to Yosemite and wait for the real download. no self-control needed.......

maybe you're saying that they are separate issues. maybe i just need to go to the store and have the 3 bad icons removed without removing El Capitan. I can try that too.then just leave me alone. i don't know how to do a screenshot, you accuse me of downloading from somewhere other than the apple site and you're showing self control. whoever you are, please, just ignore me. i'll go to the store and have this removed and go back to Yosemite and wait for the real download. no self-control needed.......

and then what after I've done the screenshot? upload a file?I already told you how to do a screenshot. Press Command-Shift-4 and drag your mouse over the area you want to select.
Yes. The screenshot will be on your desktop.and then what after I've done the screenshot? upload a file?
thank you all for your suggestions. i have a feeling that the 3 icons have nothing to do with downloading the beta because it can't be just me and because I did download it the proper way from the apple site. i will go to the genius bar at my local store tomorrow and ask them to remove the three icons. i am under warranty and think this will be the best way for me to handle this because it is not something i have encountered before and am not entirely comfortable doing my own repairs. thank you, i believe now that these icons have nothing to do with the El Capitan beta and must be a result of something else and will have them removed. i didn't open them or engage them.
