With all due respect, I think it would be best if you don’t even install the beta. Being a beta tester is a bit of a commitment and things will likely break down and require some outside the box thinking on your part. If you’re not willing or able to solve problems on your own then you won’t enjoy the beta.
well, that would have been nice advise had i see it a few weeks ago before we were invited to install the beta. but now, i do believe the bad apps have nothing to do with the beta, they just coincided time wise.

@ollywang: Please, consider the chance of solving this issue by yourself. It is easy and you can do it, I am sure.
I presume the three icons (MacKeeper, ZipCloud and Advanced Mac Cleaner) are in the same location? Please find them, you can do it in Finder. If the icons are on Desktop, you can right click on each and choose "Move to Trash". After deleting the icons, just to be on the safe side, run MalwareBytes Anti-Malwafe for Mac (https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/). Just two simple steps and you are done.
thank you ulen but my computer just won't co-operate. rather than screw this up further i better get the experts to remove them. i can find them on the launchpad and in finder but with a right click (holding the key down)the delete option isn't there. and what's odd is that at the same time as all of the apps get wiggly with the delete x on the top left, these three don't even show that option. i will be patient and tomorrow they will be gone.....hopefully. If they showed 'move to trash' i really would do it myself. i just don't want to play with them and get them further into my system.

That just means that they are located somewhere and Launchpad found them. Look for them with the search box in Finder and make sure you select “This Mac” as the parameter. Once you know where they are you can just drag them to trash. Alternatively, use this tool to help you find it: http://sqwarq.com/detectx/.

thank you. i deleted 2 but advanced mac cleaner won't delete until closed and it won't close. i keep going deeper with these suggestions but since i'm not a pro i think i should stop. it just scares me to fool around with this. but thanks, 2 out of 3 is good.

Simply copy "activity monitor" into Spotlight and hit return.

Trust me, it'd be much worse on a Windows PC ;)

Check System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items to see if it is listed there. If so, select it and hit "–" to remove it.

Seems that you receive an email alerting there is a safari update.

Apple will NEVER release any update (whether important or not) by sending email to users. All updates will eventually be found in mac app store, and be distributed electronically.

And, I am afraid, your genius bar appointment will fail since you run beta software on your mac. Apple will not support users running beta software.

You should try to follow instructions in this thread to remove those crapware on your mac.

I am also afraid internet recovery would also be a really difficult thing for you to do.

A new stunt being done by the MacKeeper people is to put info on the web about new manual releases and when you click on the link to download the "new manual" it downloads MacKeeper (and God knows what else).

It is stated very clearly on the Apple website where you signed up.

thank almost all of you for your help and kindness. the genius bar helped wipe the last vestiges of i won't even name the app here ;o) from my computer because i knew before i went in that it had nothing to do with El Capitan and the fellow who helped me knew that too. the other two apps i had put in the trash thanks to your help. it took all of 5 minutes for a complete clean-up, removing a few other apps i didn't need or use.

it was that loser safari that i responded to, something i've never really done before and won't do again. i am a novice at fixing these things but love technology so this was an adventure for me and again thanks those of you who were helpful and the others, who cares, forums are for people to be slightly nasty and condescending, i get it.

I think you are of luck because genius bar gives you assistance on El Capitan machine, which they should not provide assistance for it.

Anyway, wiping out crapware is the first thing you need to do.

Congratulations. Have a nice day.

Happy you got the problem taken care of :)

I am not surprised at all that they helped him. Apple has great customer service, and it would take them more time to explain to him why they can't help him, than to actually help him. In this case, the issue would have been the same whether he had Panther, Leopard, or whatever installed. It was a simple app removal.

Apple loves for him to go and tell his friends how helpful they are, and how great they are. Just about everyone who has dealt with the Genius Bar will probably tell you the same. Go sit down an listen in on some of the issues that people have, and how the Genius bar helps them. The last time I was there, they helped a lady before me, who "lost all her ram." I wanted to laugh at her, but the Genius deleted 30 something copies of the Adobe CS installers from her Applications directory, to "help her get her ram back." He then, helped her install her Adobe Photoshop on what looked like a 2007 MacBook Pro.

The "help" that I received that day, was using their charger to charge my MacBook Pro, because I forgot mine 360 miles away.

But it is still vary from store to store, from country to country.
For me, for example, I may have destroyed or damaged partition table. But rather teaching me how to repair it, they teach me how to format disk, which I already know all steps necessary. I don't ask for genius bar. I ask for telephone/chat support.
