I’m done waiting personally. Pulled the trigger on the i7 model with third party 32GB RAM a few days ago.

The disappointing 2020 update made me procrastinate on this planned purchase for a while. Wanted to wait till WWDC to see if a possible new iMac is the way to go but realized I just don’t want an AiO machine after all and it makes no sense to prolong this torture.

The time I spend worrying and guessing the future will be better spent working and making money. The Mini part of the setup shouldn’t be hard to replace a year or two from here if it ends up not being enough (which I highly doubt). And the monitors, eGPU, audio etc parts of this modular system will be much more flexible and future proof than an iMac can ever be anyway.

Thanks for the link. No offense to you but... that was a 'nothing' article. Idle speculation.

I purchased my mini earlier in the year after my Mac Pro died, so I had no choice. Sure, it would have been nice to get double the SSD storage, but I've got a good computer (except for eGPU woes).

The best time to buy (if you need it) is always now.
