I might be wrong, but I recall reading that once Apple announces an earnings call, then there are no new/updated products until afterwards. Well, Apple just announced one for July the 24th so I don't think you'll have an update in early July.

Don't see where it says "will come in 9 or 10 july" but hopefully we are both right and the waiting is over!

I saw here:
Days Since Update349 (Avg = 356)

anyway, im waiting for a early bump spec, because i won't like to buy a pc with newest processor (Ivy Bridge) and GPU like a GT650M, at least.

Can the Mini get any smaller would you think? If they can somehow ditch the existing fan for a lower profile better performing thermal solution that'd be great. Maybe they'll go the Macbook Pro route and have an internal soldered SSD solution. That seems like the direction they're heading. If so the 2011 models will be able to retain their value since there's more options for the user there.

Would a smaller mini benefit you guys? I can't picture how hooking my stuff up to an AppleTV sized mini would benefit me. maybe I could then Velcro it anywhere I wanted.

I do believe a new Mini will be out this month though -- but first Mountain Lion has to go GM.

they better work on it to make it quieter at higher rpms. It is already small enough...

That is not a site that gives a date when an Apple product will be released. Its just a counter from the date the current product was first released so that we can guess approx when the newer version might come out. Not a guarantee or a date Marcelmfa

I know that haven't a guarantee, because this i wrote will come between apostrophes. I just said that we are close to day that avg counter points.

Refurb store full of most minis

Also no Mac Mini's in the refurb store-- re-pricing? I think OP is correct, thumbs up!

I have been following this as I am going to purchase either new or refurb as soon as the new ones come out. I think they are now blowing out the current ones.

Best Buy has had minis on sale for a few weeks now. $568 for the base model.

Hmmm, that is tempting. My first gen intel mini is getting kind of long in the tooth. Though even if I retire it I am sure I will find a use for it. Bathroom browsing for long visit to the porcelain throne? Car install? Kitchen recipe computer?

The mini form factor is actual near-perfect. It is exactly 1U high, and you can fit two side by side on a standard-width rack shelf. Makes it quite usable for business situations.

Something is coming...
Around 70% of Apple stores are out of stock. New one is showing to come 11-12 July. :)

I can't find a single Apple Online Store where it's out of stock ...

My mistake, you need to add 3 or more mac minis in order to show. Anyways it is either coming that day or its just a new stock from the old model.

Update: MacMini is now not available for pick up at apple's store

To make it significantly smaller, I think you'd have to connect stuff to two sides, or ditch all the connectors except power and thunderbolt. neither seems very appealing.

I could see Mini going to solid state drive tech, to boost performance an manage heat better. I think SSD is still too expensive at the Mini price point, but it's likely in their roadmap at some point, and this could allow for size reduction, both from a smaller storage footprint and perhaps a smaller fan. I think the design's fantastic, but Apple is Apple, so we know it needs to change at some point.

if anythign Apple holds its products external designs static much longer than other computer companies. HP and Dell change up their products every single year. Even two models one year apart will have slightly different ports, keys, latches and such.
Apple kept the original mini case through the Intel transition. Same for the Mac Pro case. I suppose thats why folks mistake my first gen intel mini for a G5?

We're in violent agreement, my friend.
