Yeah, that'd be helpful. Currently hosting on my home server, which isn't exactly fast.

In addition to downloading the image, I'm gonna go on a hunch and try to add the kexts to an installer partition I've made in Mavericks using Kext Wizard. I just want to see if we can't sneak them past SIP

There's no real point to me downloading this right now, is there?

I got Sierra running on a 2009 Mac Mini, like on the MacBooks, USB does not work, same thing for WiFi and the ethernet seems glitchy (maybe it's just my setup). I connected the mini to my MacBook pro with firewire and now I can connect to it using remote desktop.

If I go into the profiler, the USB ports are listed, but when I connect a new device, it remains disabled (and does not show up in the system profiler.

I also tried it on a MacBook Pro 3,1, but it kernel panics.

Stupid question but I just want to know if this is worth it or not. Do you have QE/CI on your mini?

Hey guys I am about to give up after a 20 hours of trying to start the installation without seeing the annoying message "Sorry but your upgraded mac - that is way more powerful than the 2016 MB is not compatible with this version of macOS" Or get stuck at file copying because of the Read only filesystem of my installation. I think we should wait until the recovery image comes out because obviously this beta image is not bootable. But I think that we really shall at least annoy Apple because they are dropping support of computers who are useful and valuable to us... Thanks to their "strategy" I'm not anymore able to develop apps because of the Xcode updates... So wish you luck guys and I believe that you will succeed and hope there will be a good guide so everyone can upgrade.

The Beta image is bootable. The installer I made last night boots fine on my 2010 MBP. Haven't tried it on an unsupported Mac yet though.

Hello, I have been following this thread - I have a MacBookPro5,1 - MC026xx/A (Late 2008 Macbook Pro 15" Unibody).... When I get home today I am going to try to install sierra however I am trying to figure out what special steps that I will need to take... I guess I will need an updated Kext file after reading through this thread?

Can't get it working here. How did you do it?!
I disabled SIP by booting Recovery on a supported Mac, then installed the modified USB kexts posted earlier with Kext Wizard (on the supported Mac). Then I put the drive in the MacBook and booted.

Sweet. I did the drivers but didn't disable SIP. Doing it now. THANKS!!!

Is there any way for me to update the kext files and disable SIP if I do not have a 'supported' mac?
