Hey guys, I've been running Sierra for a while and I noticed that after about 5-15 Siri requests, she no longer responses. If I then reactivate her she plays the little ding sound and then does nothing else (and I'm just screaming to the computer and nothing happens), just gets stuck on the microphone icon ...aka the animation is no longer there and she gets stuck... The only way to get her back is to restart, I tried even logging out but no success... Has anyone else got this bug(im running Sierra Beta 1 on MacBook 5,1 - 2008 late Aluminum unibody). Any ideas? Is it bug with the patch or with the OS itself... I surched up the problem but no one has yet discovered anything so I decided to post. Oh and also dictation stops working after Siri gets frozen.

Is it not possible to use the kexts from El Capitan to get the wifi working on Sierra?

Apple's AirPortBrcm43224.kext has too many dependencies. This kext not working with IO80211Family.kext that can be found in Sierra. But the downgrade of the complete IO80211Family.kext to the version found in 10.11.5 does not solve the problem, because this kext depends to IOReportFamily.kext. I found that nearly all of the IOxxxxxxxx.kext's depends to IOReportFamily.kext (and don't works with the version found in Sierra), maybe we need to replace all of the IOxxxxxxxx.kext's to the 10.11.5 version, that i don't like, or don't want. Instead, we can purchase newer WiFi modules (that support Air Drop between Macs and Macs), or more newer 802.11ac+BT4.0 based boards (if the mac has enough room for it) and with it, we get complete continuity + handoff support (including application handoff, apple watch unlock, shared clipboard etc).

I am guessing I won't be able to upgrade to Sierra. I can't upgrade my 2009 Mac Pro 4.1 due to a 5770 error. It seems when my logic board failure was resolved under warranty the firmware was upgraded by Apple to xxx08 and is not as I expected to see xxx07.

Any suggestions? I am not that technical!

Oh no! http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html is down :/

How was the procedure? I have both the patcher and the DP1

http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html is up again now.

I downloaded the app already but haven't used it. Don't really need to. But I'm interested in this anyway.

The thing I missed the most though was the instructions and regretted not saving it the first time I saw it.

Anyway I've now saved the entire webpage as a pdf file and will repost that if http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html goes down again.

Yeah, I had to do some server maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience. On the bright side, I now have a 120 MB/s upload connection, instead of the 30 MB/s I had before.

how would i download the beta from the mac appstore when it keeps telling me my macbook pro late 2008 is not supported?

section of this page http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/2009MacPro6CoreCPUupgrade.html

and here's another flasher link http://www.yourdailymac.net/2011/05...010-firmware-supports-faster-cpus-and-memory/

Just finished the new post-install application! It will be included in version 2.0 of the patch tool, which will be uploaded shortly. http://dosdude1.com/pics/sierra/postinstallnew.jpg
What about Bluetooth kexts for Macbook5,2 and Atheros? Without IOBluetoothFamily and IOBluetoothHIDDriver my mac won't recognized Apple Magic Mouse. Also, the mouse settings in sysprefs are not working even with correct kexts from ElCap. I don't know what I can do with it.

Fixes will be added once a proper solution is found.

Some baseline information someone might find useful:

I am running a MacBook Pro 5,1 (late 2008) using Sierra. The keyboard/trackpad works okay. The WiFi works just like using El Capitan.

Manufacturer: Broadcom
Transport: USB
Chipset: 2046
Firmware Version: v208 c522

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP51.007E.B06
SMC Version (system): 1.33f8
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled

Yeah, this version of the MacBook Pro is a CTO version. The CPU is a special order.

Do other Bluetooth devices work?
