Since installing Sonoma, I noticed that I can't attach Photos on iMessages, text messages or social media. I get an error message stating I have to update photos to view and select photos but I can view them. Any solutions from the mind hive? I did not have that issue before, ever.

have you opened the photos app on your mac? perhaps your library needs updating (& if so, you'd see a message telling you this when you open the app). i can attach photos here on my air...

I installed the Sonoma 14.1 RC on my external Acasis thunderbolt enclosure with Samsung 980 Pro and the slow boot issue is not solved. Al lot of spinning beachballs too when opening applications.
No boot problems however on an external t7 Samsung SSD. But some applications close unexpectedly while opening the first time. And Office 2001 update took a long time. I can't paste a link anymore in Weebly when using Safari or Firefox. I have no intention to install Sonoma 14.1 on my internal drive.

I am not seeing the bluetooth disconnects in 14.1RC, at least so far. Anyone else?

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Airpods Max just disconnected. Ugh!

Can anyone tell me if this update fixes the volume indicator bug? I haven't been able to see the percentage in settings since updating to Sonoma, and it seems to not accurately reflect the correct volume in the status bar like it does within the volume app. It's really strange.

I've been in and out of Photos on my Mac, including just now and haven't seen any Photos update message.

I've submitted FB12202204 & FB13282770 for being unable to select a Folder from the Photos App to use to randomly cycle Desktop Wallpaper. I've had this issue All Summer going back to a macOS 13.4 Beta thru to this recent macOS 14.1 RC. I'm able to Select a Finder Album of photos and cycle thru them randomly for my Desktop Background, but as soon as I select Any Folder from the Photos App, it immediately default to the Sonoma Default Wallpaper. I'm really curious if anyone els is able to select a Folder from the Photos App to randomly cycle thru for Desktop Wallpaper.. I've asked a handful of times if anyone else can try, but no one's been willing to let me know if they're honestly able to. With all the attention on Apple's new TV Wallpaper/Screensavers, its no surprise something like this could be overlooked during the initial Summer beta timeframe, but to not even have a couple filed Feedbacks acknowledged, or even anyone in the Apple Dev Forums or here.. Hard to know if it's a "me" thing.

I had been getting the beachballing on Sonoma and was hoping 14.1 would help to remove issue causing the beachballing...EtreCheck Pro paid package sort of help...seems that's little...

This version has fixed an issue when you airplay music to HomePods and have an active ethernet network.
With 14.0, it was necessary to disable Ethernet and use only Wifi

Can anyone check if the Drift Screensaver is working properly again? With 14.0 it doesn't update itself when wallpaper changes from dark to light vice versa.

YES! SO EXCITING! Finally after like 4 years or so, one of my filed Feedbacks has changed to reflect they've acknowledged it! Sweet!

At least they're saying that "More than 10" folks are having this same issue. Makes me feel better about trying to troubleshoot further on my end...

I am not testing the beta 14.1, but I wanted to ask you that are - does it seem solid with iCloud? I have had more sync problems on 14.0 with iCloud on 2 different Macs - photos app, shared albums, and contacts all having repeated problems where they just stop syncing, and I have to sign out of iCloud and sign back in, plus sometimes do things like turn off shared albums and turn them back on. My iPhone and iPad have been rock solid with iCloud syncing. Praying 🙏🏻for a better sync experience with 14.1 this week!

TBH, iCloud Sync Issues seem to happen sporadically for me through the regular release cycle, let alone the beta releases. I've read some horror stories about people losing everything, although I've never come across major problems like that. I think I remember reading, also, about how there tends to be issues generally anyway during the initial beta process, and then once the RC is actually the Official Release, backend stuff straightens itself out. RC might be fine but the other end might not be. Nothing we can fix on our end with that.

is the 14.1 update add more native apps to the accessibility per apps font size adjustment?

I have noticed an annoying problem in the last few days (macOS 14.1 RC).
Audio stops working or hiccups, audio devices disappear and reappear, Sound settings are unreachable, and at the same time applications using web based frameworks stop working or crash. Web browsing, pages that require an audio device (e.g., YouTube) or tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and the like cannot be used.
Screenshot 2023-10-24 alle 15.03.47.png

The only solution at the moment is to restart the Mac but it is not a solution because the problem occurs again.
I cannot figure out if the problem is related to the AirPods Pro since the first freezes occur with the earbuds plugged in.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

This issue isn't resolved in macOS 14.1 build 23B74

Bummer.
