13" oder 15" (DG?)Updated my MBP 2015 and Mac Mini 2014 OTA to 14.7.7.
OTA does not work with OpenCore, cause macos thinks that the system partition has been altered and loads the full OS.My experience with OpenCore has been so far great, but started seeing weird behaviour on my MBP 15" mid 2014 - I don't seem to be able to invoike OTA software updates to the system, the preference menu either doesn't load at all or takes forever to load, but won't download anything even if I click on it
any suggestions please?
Yeah, I use that tool too to get security updates… the OTA updates did work previously but not since I upgraded to Sonoma.OTA does not work with OpenCore, cause macos thinks that the system partition has been altered and loads the full OS.
Well at least in never worked on any of my machines, but this is what I read about OTA not working.
When the preference menu does not load or takes forever. I user Lockrattler to manually install the updates. https://eclecticlight.co/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/lockrattler437.zip
OCLP 1.4.2, macOS 14.7.5 -> macOS 14.7.6 OTA, macbookpro 11,2. I hit an issue.
A couple of you - @JedNZ and @RumorChaser - have said this past week that you backed out the root patches before going OTA to 14.7.6. What is the reasoning, is this common knowledge? I’ve never heard about it before today.
macOS 14.7.8 RC is available.🧐
