Upon updating to 15.7RC4 AppleTV flashes green during playback. Not present in RC3 or Sonoma. OCLP 2.4.0 installed throughout. 🤷‍♂️
That was another reason I stuck with Sonoma over Sequoia for my upgrade, that I didn't include in my response earlier.
Apple TV, and Time machine didn't work right when doing an upgrade, so had to do a clean install. I'd much rather do an upgrade whenever possible, as it saves time going forward. With that said, nothing above Monterey, really don't give me anything I need. They just fix a few minor cosmetic bugs in one, or two apps, and give me the option to install newer updates to a few others. On a daily use though, I could do without those things. However, since Sonoma is stable, I'll leave it as is until I have issues I can't resolve. I've seen more videos regarding macOS 26, and I'm thinking I'm not even going to bother with OCLP for that, the UI change looks nice enough that I'd get a new mac for it. I just also need to make sure there will be enough other changes that would apply to me to justify the cost.

That's 2.4.0's changelog. 2.4.1 is a small update that fixes the issue showing wrong installers as "stable", such as Sequoia 15.7 RC.

2.4.1 is a bug fix release to fix missing or wrong installers showing up when downloading an installer. See 2.4.0 release notes for general changes.
  • Switch installer source to AppleDB
    • Resolves missing or incorrect installers showing up when downloading an installer

OCLP 2.4.1 installed, used for EFI and root re-patching, on MBP11,1 internal SSD (Sequoia 15.6.1) and external SSD (15.7RC3). No problems.
OCLP "create installer" now shows the correct macOS versions upon download, both without and with beta option.

Thank you developers!

If I wanted to try the upgrade again, since a couple of Sequoia updates have come out, since the last time of trying it, is it safe to upgrade from Sonoma using the USB install method? That way patches will be automatically reapplied, or is it better to do a clean install? If it's better to do a clean install, I won't bother as this is stable.

So many drives!!
What has happened in my OC config that I now get so many drive partitions showing they cant even fit? I can hardly read their names.
I only have 4 bootable volumes - main startup, mojave, sonoma basic and sequoia basic - the last are minimal installs from when I was struggling getting my Sequoia upgrade to boot.

Where in the config should I be looking to change something?

Thx

I updated to OpenCore Legacy Patcher 2.4.1 without a hitch.

macOS 15.6.1 on a 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro (MacBookPro11,5) on an external USB drive.

Swift Playgrounds still don't work and I noticed some of the buttons on the LibreOffice 25.8.1.1 toolbar don't show up - that may be a LibreOffice bug.

What are your issues with Swift Playgrounds? I've tried it before on Sequoia, on this iMac 17,1, and it runs and downloads content, but I've never actually tried to run anything.

I upgraded to 15.6.1 from 14.7.8 and it looks like a perfect upgrade. No sluggishness after the initial login, and no glitching. Finishing the Xcode update, and have updated the other apps that require os 15 for the latest updates.

Also, my desktop settings are in tact, they weren't changed. Waiting for the initial time machine backup to finish after the upgrade so I can re-enable iCloud drive. Seems like iCloud drive being on in Sequoia breaks time machine after an upgrade, so you either have to clean install, or turn off icloud drive, upgrade backup, and then turn it back on.

OK, initial backup is done, turned on iCloud Drive, and doing one more backup to make sure it's working with drive re enabled. All looks good.
@Neon Ball I'm going to blow your mind again, 4K in Safari still works on this iMac after the Sequoia 15.6.1 update from 14.7.8, using OCLP 2.4.1, and a freshly created USB installer, so root patches were automatically installed. Just thought I would let you know, what expected to stop working after the upgrade, apparently still does. I can provide screenshots for documentation purposes.

I download a playground like "Learn to Code" from Apple and the first couple pages load ok, but when the first exercise page opens, it displays an error saying "There was a problem running this page. Check your code for problems. If you are stuck, start over to delete all of your changes on this page and try again." - even when you haven't input any code yet and the animation pane on the right stays empty.

I've tried loading different playgrounds and they all exhibit the same behavior. It's not a deal-killer, but I don't think Swift Playgrounds needs anything hardware-specific (and this MacBook is Metal compatible).

Re: LibreOffice - it's icons like Unmerge Cells on the toolbar for spreadsheets - they show as blank but work properly (and the pop-up tool text shows up properly too when you hover your pointer over the buttons).

OK, I'll look at playgrounds tomorrow, maybe to see if that happens for me.

Maybe try uninstall/reinstall...

On a sidenote:

After each update Spotlight gets screwed up on my machine for some reason. Meaning spotlight server is turned off. The quickest solution I have found working in this case is:

sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
sudo mdutil -E /

Hey all, am curious about something. From Monterey to Sonoma, whenever I would login to one of the sites that sends a code for verification, such as my bank, I used to be able to right click the code in messages, and select "Copy Code" to paste it into Firefox, or Chrome, since I don't use Safari as my main browser. The code also had a line under it like a link would. Now in Sequoia, the code is no longer designated a code in messages, and I have to double click the text to select, and copy it. Is this an effect of the patcher, or is this a change Apple has made? Either way I still get my code and can use it without problems. I was mainly curious about the behavior change, and if I can fix it, so it operates like it used to.

I suggest you remove the serial number.
