Well, as I'm 'between contracts' with some spare time on my hands I thought I'd dive in and update OSX (sorry, macOS), iOS and tvOS :D

Haven't found any major problems issues yet, although a few small problems to be expected:

- Mail didn't want to open to start with (seemed to be a problem rebuilding the new database), but after a reboot appears ok
- A few of the usual suspects don't work (LittleSnitch, Bartender)
- Can't use Siri as it says it's 'Disabled by Parental Controls' but I don't have any parental controls on my main account
- Safari seems to be the most buggy, and won't open certain pages correctly (my FreeNAS WUI, which works fine on Chrome and logging into Apple using 2 factor authentication, where the continue button is sometimes greyed out after entering the code)
- Some of the Safari extensions aren't working correctly either (1password, Adblocker)
- Safari Developer Preview doesn't work at all
- It also seems very slow, although as Spotlight is still indexing this might get better

Most of the applications I've tried are working (MS Office, Chrome, OmniFocus, iTunes, Aperture :D, Transmit, iStat, Fantastical) and I can still access my NAS and it's backing up 20GB using TimeMachine as I type.

iOS and tvOS looked fine too (especially the dark mode in tvOS) although I'll play with them a little more tomorrow.

This thread is worth a read for speeding up Safari > https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/safari-chrome-really-slow.1977415/#post-23018324

And I managed to enable Siri by creating a new admin account, log in with that and then switch parental controls off on my main account, and then switch back. Not sure how much use it will be when I can do most things more quickly on the keyboard!

After a few days though I'm pretty impressed for the 1st release. Can only expect things to get better?

Does anyone have any screen distortions, like little flashes in a small location, I have the latest MacBook.

I'm experiencing some issue with android debug tools (adb), where unpluging a device cause kernel panic. and I had to manually fire adb service now and then (twice, the first adb devices always end up with a failure)
anyone else??

Unfortunately the same issues with attached USB drives and speakers that were introduced in El Capitan.

Screen fronts seem blurred for me as well.

It was fun to play with for a day or so but really nothing positive for me.

Unlocking your mac with your watch is not implemented in b1

From the release notes:

Functionality not in macOS 10.12 beta
  • Faces in the Photos app do not sync across your devices.
  • The ability for your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac is not in this seed.

I can confirm this on my MBr 2016. When opening the book there is some kind of flicker for a second

I have been having the exact same issue.

Same here - it's weird, because obviously I'm logged into iCloud (or at least, enough to get mail, etc.), but it keeps telling me there was a problem connecting, and I can't manage any settings (e.g., Family membership, etc.)

My iCloud account Id is same as my email and I had trouble logging into both. After restarting the system, they went away.. Weird..

Yeah, Finder is really slow, especially when saving photos or document with Safari (save as) and then navigate through the folder structure, in El Cap it is instant, but on Sierra it sometimes takes 5-10 seconds from pressing on a folder to it opening up and listing the files. This is true for every save modal, took me 1-2 minutes to save a photo via Photoshop and navigate through 6 subfolders.

Has anyone tested the new "Auto-Unlock" feature via the iPhone? I am using a MacBook Pro late 2011 with an upgraded BT card and curious if it will work well.
No. This feature is not available in dp1. Also, the unlock feature is not from iPhone, it is from Apple Watch AFAIK.

Well, is sad if they don't implement it on the iPhone. I've been using the MacID App for a few weeks now, and it works really well with the iPhone. It doesn't seem to impact the iPhone batteries too much, so I think is safe to leave it on all the time. I walk out with my phone, and the Mac locks automatically. For when I sit back, is unlocked again. Pretty slick!

It even have the unified clipboard feature, although the Apple implementation seems much better.

Best bug I've found. Repeats over and over if I ask Siri this question. Only happens when the name is "Mom"

Anyone notice that on Settings > Security & Privacy > General, bottom pane, there is no radio button to allow apps downloaded from anywhere? It is missing on the 2011 MacBook Air. Haven't upgraded my mid-2014 rMBP to Sierra yet.

Yes they upgraded Gatekeeper. This is known and has been discussed already. To open the app just hold Control while clicking Open. It will no longer allow non-signed apps to open on Mac. You have to disable gatekeeper then re-enable it after you open the non-signed app. I've already had to do that. You can Google Search how to do that thru Terminal.

Yeah i think it's new with Sierra.

Is any having issues with Location Services?? - I've enabled Location Services but Siri or Maps just states that they unable to find my location.....

Ariel screensaver not working for me either......just shows a blank screen when it should kick in and if I move the cursor to a hot corner it just shows shown a static image :(

I don't know if this is really related but I have found since I replaced my Logitech K811 keyboard & T651 mouse with the Apple Magic Keyboard & Magic Mouse 2 this morning, my system has been running a little better. It seems to have made my Mac a little faster. So alot of the hiccups could be related to third-party drivers. Chrome still don't work but Google will update that next month they have said. But overall the system seems to have sped up so it could be third-party drivers using memory. FYI I found the Apple Mouse & Keyboard new on ebay for $114 together.

Hello.
I downloaded the MacOS Sierra beta. My Google Chrome crashes every time I try to quit it. I usually have to use force quit. Does anyone else experience this?

I'm having an issue with iCloud. At the loading screen after install, I was asked to enter my iCloud password and it said there was an error. Tried a few times and finally just said skip. I periodically get a message when opening my MacBook to go to settings and enter my password - no luck as yet and I am putting in the correct details.

Me too, same error. Wont let me log into my iCloud and says my password is incorrect when I know that it is. Hard to test when I cant get iCloud working. What is funny though is that even if I'm not logged into iCloud, I noticed that when I added a reminder on my iPhone, it shown up in the desktop app. Wired, but that is why it's a beta. I reported the iCloud login issues.

Does anyone have issues with iCloud login after updating? I can't login, it just gives me errors. I've been trying all evening

Me too!

A new process called photoanalysisd is eating my cpu for a coulple of hours now. This must be the new photo scanner but unfortunately there is no progress bar of any sorts so I don't know when it's going to end. So far the People in Albums are completely empty but Intelligent Search (for e.g. beach, car, etc.) seems to be working.

I'm having the same "cpu eating" problem, but i just oppened the photos app, i clicked on the "people" and it shows a progress bar for me
