Resolved Issues
New Issues

  • ***WARNING*** Potential System Extension errors following upgrade to RC1. Multiple reports. See the comment section.
  • Time Machine does not finish backup to NAS with macOS Firewall on. Transfers about 700MB and errors out saying the disk disconnected (it didn't). Time Machine works fine with Firewall off. Apple confirmed via phone they are receiving reports of problems with the Firewall in 15.01 and are "looking into it." Callback scheduled for Friday.
(If you are encountering any issues, please press "Edit" on the bottom of this post and add it here)

Remaining Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0

Untested Issues
Additional Notes

  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.
    • MacBook Air: Intel 2020, M1, M2, M3

2.5G to USB-C/Thunderbolt adapter still don't get full speed - my Belkin gets max 913 Mbps d/l on a 2G plan, and it used to get 2300+ pre-15.0. With a Sonnet 10G adapter, the same Mac gets 2350 Mbps d/l speed. Drivers not updated yet I guess.

On upgrading to 15.0.1 it. bricked my M1 MBP. Had to use safe mode. Kernel Panic each time it rebooted itself, several times.
Stay on Sonoma if you do not want Kernel Panics, i had 1 before this "upgrade".

I disabled all startup items, and rebooted it, ok. Now need to investigate which item is causing the problem. I suspect it maybe bind9 named, installed from brew.sh; i have also had problems with that freezing the network on a Mac-Mini8,1 recently; it was ok, now fails both on Sonoma and Sequoia. I put my local domain nameserver on a Debian 12 linux machine. The Mac-Mini on Sequoia also stopped nginx webserver, rebooted and got it working again. Maybe MacOS is no good as a server anymore.

I successfully updated my Intel MacBook Pro to version 15.0.1 without any issues, and everything is working smoothly.

Looks like we're STILL unable to use an Album in the Photos App to cycle through Desktop Background Wallpaper Randomly. This has been an issue since late in macOS 13, might as well just remove the option...

Before I install this update I want to check in here with a question. I have 15.0 installed, but the update shows it is 15.0. Am I reading this right? Is it actually 15.0.1?

The mediaanalysisd bug is still there. If my Mac is plugged in and idle for 5 minutes the logs will start filling up with the following error. In total there are tens of thousands of errors a minute.

mediaanalysisd: (Photos) [com.apple.photos.backend.search:SearchBackendSceneTaxonomy] Failed to load Scene Taxonomy for analysis version: 0. Unable to translate scenes.

I’ve already repaired my Photo Library to stop the Photos app from continuously crashing on search (which worked). Since then searching for landmarks returns no results despite indexing finishing.

You can see the logs from the last hour by running the following from the terminal:

log show --process mediaanalysisd --last 1h

I have been unable to make or receive calls on my MBP Max M1 using my iPhone 15 Pro since updating. All settings are corrected. I'll rebooted both several times.

Strangely, I can make calls on my iPad which also was updated to iPadOS 18.0.1. So the iPhone is set up correct. It must be something on the MBP. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Working for me. On your iPhone, try toggling the Settings->Cellular->Calls on Other Devices OFF then ON again and the Mac option. Then, on your Mac in the FT app settings, toggle the 'Use iPhone cellular account..." setting.

Mac OS versions are released too quickly, not mature enough, every year a version, an OS, an iPhone, etc. I find this a shame.
The cycle does not make sense, the result is versions in trial mode that continue all year and mature a few months before a new version.
Why not give a version cycle every 3 years to take advantage of a mature OS.

I was using Sonoma 14 when I began experiencing "no internet" notices randomly when waking my 2021 M1 14"MBP & had to reboot the laptop to get it back. Updated Sonoma & then installed Sequoia 15.0. Issue persists. Need help understanding why. Thanks.

I had wifi problems and ofc i return to sonoma. They don't even mention the known problem. Apple ftw

My Mac is an iMac 5K 2019 3.0GHz with 40GB memory.
However, I purchased it with a CTO and upgraded it to a 512GB SSD.

I installed macOS 15 Sequoia immediately after its official release.
Version 15.0.1 is also working without any problems.

However, I did not use a moving wallpaper from the beginning because it seemed like it would be a burden on the system, and instead specified a different wallpaper (still image).

I have not had any network-related issues.

Sequoia 15.0 or the 15.1 beta works on my 2019 iMac 5K without issue until I try Messages or Find My. No-go with those. Safari is also slow. I'm beginning to think Intel users need to go back to Sonoma or Ventura.
