Anyone having issues with finder crashing? I've also been having issues with any application (3rd party or apple programs) allowing me to "upload file" or "save pdf" or "add file" from or two my computer. It's to the point that even force quitting finder, it still never relaunches. I keep getting spin dumps and such and have just been reporting as much as I can. If I hit "add file" to a spot to upload a document, it thinks, gets the spinning wheel, and then just never opens finder to select the document. M3 pro.

Do you mean options in the share menu? I just activated everything possible from external apps. I don't find those three options you mention but everything I tried in there seems to work for me.

Strangely Finder did not crash a single time since Beta 1. Only when I tried things like Xtra Finder, Total Finder and Path Finder it crashes often, but those three didn't also work very good in Sequoia.

In Sequoia I very often had to force quit Finder because something very simple didn't work anymore, like copying or moving files. Either nothing happened or the copy indicator showed up and didn't move. Or I couldn't click things in the side bar anymore while the main part of the window still worked.

This happened about once or twice every day and was only on my iMac I think. Don't know when it started, maybe with some beta in December and it still was there until I stopped using the iMac in February or March.

It seems I was the only one with this problem. At least in those threads here no one confirmed it. Also the mini I bought by the end of December wasn't affected. I used both at the same time with the same versions for a while. They had been even connected and could share mice and keyboards and drag files over from one Mac to another.

hm okay

Wow, just found Apple has hidden a few apps, which are really useful like the News-App, which works even in EU
after making it visible

as Launchpad is there too ...

EDIT: still Beta-3

They already reduced them, they were way more pronounced in beta 1. If they reduce them any further, they will become almost invisible, and they are needed to separate controls from the content.

Theres no way around it, that’s just how the whole thing is conceived.
I don’t think they have.

On iOS it’s mostly okay, because the controls sit right on top of the content. In macOS, the controls are usually within another container, which already separates the controls from the content. So having extra shadows there is too much and not really needed. It just makes the UI feels “heavy”.

Just a quick question to those that are testing Tahoe - in Apple's Liquid Glass video they showed that the "traffic light" buttons are in it's own "pill".
Is there actually any app that have that?

The News app was always there since it had been introduced. ;)

Launchpad is just launching the Spotlight App search, but you can change it back with two Terminal commands. Then both are like before.

Code:
sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/SpotlightUI.plist SpotlightPlus -dict Enabled -bool false

Apps is disappearing from the Dock when you do this. You have to put Launchpad in it's place then manually.

Yes, they did it in iPadOS but I was just curious if they also did it in MacOS since they said they wanted to unify visual theme for all of the systems 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have a browser installed that normally is for iPad only. Does look the same and is even overlapping with the sidebar icon. :/

Did they add back safari compact view?

Did they reduce the size of the UI elements or does it still look like a toy?

I just installed the first today released Beta of Safari 26 for Sequoia. The Layout didn't change and compact tabs are still there.

I’m afraid that’s only for sequoia, on Tahoe the UI is a disgrace and there is no compact view…

Yes, I just wanted to let you know. For the case you'll stay with Sequoia for a longer time like it seems I will do now.

I can't believe they released Beta 4 as Public Beta. Besides the ugliness it still felt more like an alpha version. I use several alpha apps on a daily basis without any problems, like this Firefox Nightly browser I am writing in at the moment for example. It is even working better than a non-beta Safari.

Everything looks so clean now again after I downgraded and there is much more space everywhere because of those missing huge ugly design elements and my Mac mini is no all day heater anymore. Beta 4 made it even worse again. It was hot while sleeping, more than when I used it and the fan was most of the time higher than standard, that didn't even happen in Beta 1 and 2. It was just very warm but not enough that the fan ramped up by itself.

I used Tahoe only, from day 1 when the first Developer Beta had been released and couldn't believe how beautiful Sequoia is compared to 26 after not seeing it that long.

The update from 14.x to 15.0 Developer Beta 1 didn't annoy me a single time. I got through all betas of all versions without any major issue.

But I'll keep the iOS 26 Beta on my SE3. It's much better there than macOS 26 on an M4 Pro. Beta 1 looked a little strange, but since Beta 2 everything is good on my phone.

In B3, Microsoft Outlook, there is a bug where clicking different mail account doesn't work, anybody noticed this?
I'm seeing that too on B3 and now B4, no idea how to fix other than right-clicking to switch accounts.
