Thank god. Makes one wonder why they even thought rounded documents were a good idea; and puts to rest any arguments for them.
the betas are a place for apple to try new things, but yes, good to see when they revert to a better idea. and i don't think ppl were arguing that rounded corners were better, as much as just pointing out that 'this is how it looks right now'.

anyway, good to see progress with 26.1

It’s ok, things change and Apple decided to shake things up for us. me, i'm just using my mac, and having a great time 👍
thanks, that did make me laugh.

still (and i feel like you know this) there's a huge difference between an incorrect behavior and an opinion about how something looks

Safari will be forever buggy. The same bugs over and over again....

Untested Issues
  • Wi-Fi not working on M1 MBA. Broadcom BCM4378 chipset Driver: IO80211_driverkit-1525.88 with firmware from July 11, 2025. Connects to Wi-Fi and Hotspots, gets DHCP lease with correct IP/gateway/DNS, but cannot reach gateway or any network hosts. Rebooting, forgetting network, etc. do not resolve.
Any M1 MBA users here affected by this?
Edit - all's well after the update.

Sorry, I can't read the full thread at the moment to see if everything already has been mentioned. Too sick.

I found two bugs until now. The external non-Apple display on my Mac mini is set to full brightness in the slider in the menu bar and it isn't movable.

This happens either only after after logout/reboot or also when coming from the Lock Screen after the Mac was sleeping or even without sleeping. Not sure yet.

I have to click on Display Settings to see the real brightness setting and when I get back after moving it a little it's working again in the menu bar too. I installed BetterDisplay now again to see if moving the slider there will unstuck the macOS slider too.

Second bug is a suddenly huge mouse cursor I experienced twice. The first time only when I wanted to resize a window and hit the border and the second time it was just there, not sure what I did before and it stayed for a few minutes in that size and disappeared while I wrote this text.

Mac mini M4 Pro 64GB RAM.

'better display' is awesome, and works here with my macbook and external. did it resolve the 'stuck' issue for you?

Can someone confirm if these bugs have been fixed in 26.1:

  • Apple Mail: Message list font size cannot be changed from default 11 pt.
  • Photos: stuck at not findings people or scanning tagged photos
Thanks.

I have a problem with mail not showing the correct number of unread Emails. The number displayed is up in the hundredsScratch Head.gif

Apps Drawer app, which replaced Launchpad, is not working on MBA/M4. I've just started testing out the app.
