my guess (and it's just a guess); this is coming soon, and is not yet functional (altho why the option would be there before the actual functionality is confusing)...
nah, it's definitely functional already, just sort of subtle (but nevertheless very welcome)

Liquid Selection in beta 4

Huh. That's actually an incredible admission that they can't get liquid glass working correctly. Hopefully they reverse course on launchpad.

some users don't like Liquid Glass.

The world's most valuable company that currently supports around 100 million active MacOS machines does not add the option to remove their signature UI appearance because some users don't like it. If they heard something and responded to that, please provide proof.

Yeah I agree.

I notice that on iOS and iPadOS, the tinted Liquid Glass option affects the notifications significantly. Notifications on macOS were already more opaque than their iOS/iPadOS counterparts, so the tinted option doesn't appear to do as much for the Mac.

I think they could go further with it, maybe have it tint the dock and the Desktop switcher at the top of Mission Control (they can look extremely garish depending on what wallpaper you have underneath).

and here, you're also speaking for some users (unless, of course, you have proof about 'system preferences').

why do ppl post absolutes when they're just voicing their opinions? 🤔

Narrow columns in Messages has been fixed. Persistent dot in the dock after apps (Teams specifically) are closed has also been fixed. So they fixed what they broke. Guess I'm grateful lol.

Terminal app in the background went full glass.

I took a picture to file a feedback, but then decided nah, they have enough to do :p

it's strange that the lag come and go randomly. Sometimes I have tens of windows opened and Mission Control runs pretty smooth. Other times, even mouse movement lags

Probably a font caching problem. Try rebooting; otherwise you'll have to clear the caches. There's a Terminal command (followed by a reboot); or boot to Safe mode and then restart normally.

Still haven't seen a fix for this yet: If you’re using the ‘clear’ icon or widget style, it can sometimes be difficult to read the names of the accessories you’ve activated.

Some "third-party" widgets (like iStatistica) do not work at all with 'tinted' or 'clear' style. Probably these apps need to be updated by developers...

Yeah I have a bit more lenience with third party widgets, but this is Apple’s own Home app widget (sorry I realise now I didn’t specify what widget it was!)

Thanks it does appear to be a Font problem as you said, the Tahoe update did a couple of other things with my preferences that I did not like, fixed those. I tried restarting it did not work, now I'll try your suggestion.

Since going from 26.0.1 to 26.1 b4, Dbeaver cannot select lines anymore, or commands like CMD A. I've beem searching online and some folks have the same issue. Unfortunately my last backup is from 2 weeks ago. No I'm gonna try to find a Dbeaver alternative, until it works out. Other Database Tools, like DataGrip, or even VsCode works normally...

What is going on with Mail and Messages? They do not respond when launched about 80% of the time, I restart and no change. I hope the Public release comes out soon because it's annoying to only receive emails and messages consistantly on my phone and iPad.
