Find the lizard

at Three Rivers Petroglyphs park, NM. Some of the lizards are melanistic and harder to spot than this one.

That water spurt is great! Care to tell us how you did that?

Sure! I have to admit, it was a "happy accident". I was shooting just random things and I told my dad to turn on the water so I could test the focus. Well, everything looked good so I went to snap the shot and my dad turned away to sneeze. He took his hand off the knob and the water stopped as I released the shutter. And BANG, Happy accident.

I do also recommend anyone who's looking to switch to dSLRs to look into the Nikon D70. I had some of their glass so it was a natural choice for me to move to the Nikon dSLR. The shot was actually taken with a Lensbaby lens (http://www.lensbaby.com). The lensbaby has made me fall in love with digital photography. It turns your expensive camera into a Holga.

What is macro photography? I have that option on my camera but never used it... I'm a big fan of "auto" because otherwise I make it look worse... :)

Ohhhh nevermind... I did that whole google thing I hear about from the youngin's...

This is actually what I've been wanting to do... maybe I'll have to play with it when I get home...

macro moss

Interesting url on macros, SilentPanda. Give it a try, but I don't recommend using all his examples!

Here is a bit of moss, interesting enough to me to macro, seen on a foggy day walk this am:

This shot was taken with a Canon Powershot S500. I couldn't quite get the focus right on the moth, but then this isn't even an SLR camera. This comes from high in the French Alps.

A photo my Dad took of these eggs earlier actually won something in the Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photo Contest or something like that... I can't remember what place it got, though...

Oh yeah, Moxie... My avatar came from a picture of yours... It was actually with the same camera and lens as the frog eggs, but I was just messing around and didn't have a tripod or anything, so the area in focus is very, very narrow... Apple's products are definitely not camera shy...

This was taken by reversing the D-Rebel kit lens, holding it against the body of the camera by hand. (its a cellphone about the size of a SE T616, btw) :)
