I ran through some of your posts but then I ran through your topics that you started. You registered on September 11, 2014, which means you have given it less than a month. You registered just after the newest iPhone was announced, which also means you registered at a time when new members flock to these forums (like you) and the forums themselves are generally busier.
On September 24th you started a thread about the forum being unhealthy. You waited just under 2 full weeks before you started showing your discontent. Following that thread, you started a couple more, this one included. Within many of those threads people have offered advice, much of it can be summed up as follows:
- A new iPhone release heightens traffic and increases the amount of duplicative threads, you can report them if you wish.
- You can simply not return to this site. MacRumors will not care and they'll be okay. FWIW, they would not care if I left either. This is a business, not someone who is going to give me hugs when I am hurting.
- You can search threads within sub forums if you're looking for something specific.
- You can turn off certain sub forums in Forum Spy to avoid seeing the threads scroll by.
- You can simply not click on threads that have titles that will likely annoy you.
- You can learn to live with it.
Since being handed such advice and likely more, you have chosen to ignore everything and continue starting threads. At this point I'll speak for many, which I rarely do, and say that we get it. You don't like it here. This forum is a place where you can think your iPhone has a problem before it even leaves China. If you aren't mature enough to just make decisions and leave judgement for when you have a device, you can most certainly be swayed by this forum to the point where you have buyer's remorse before your order is even ready for shipment. It is entirely up to you how you view this forum and most importantly, what you take from it. One thing is for sure, insulting people is not going to garner you any sympathy. At the very least try to express your discontent without being so dang insulting to members.
To date, you have contributed absolutely nothing to this website. Thankfully, there are those who do and your lack of contribution isn't missed. But in life, and this applies on and offline, you get what you give. If you stand around bitching and moaning about how bad a forum is then you have no one else to blame but yourself because you can log off and never return or you can be part of the solution. Help others. Don't start threads about unnecessary worry about your order still in processing. Don't start multiple threads about your discontent for the website as a whole. Post threads that lead to discussion such as this one you created: "Why aluminum isn't the cause of the bending reports - Interesting read".
It is acceptable to be dissatisfied with a website. I assure you, I've been here long enough and people who were actual friends who I have met from this site have moved on in many ways. This site has changed and in some ways for the worse, but it grew. Once Apple wasn't just in the PC business the site began to grow and grow. It will happen and again, MacRumors is an organization. It generates income and it is treated as a business. MacRumors isn't about high fives and hugs, it is about money and membership. It is here to provide what it believes is a resource for all things Apple. In many ways it does a good job. If you can move on from the basic BS that does occur then you'll be fine. I am no saint around here a lot of the time but at the very least, I will try to help if I can and if someone online doesn't like me, which the list is long and distinguished I am sure, then so be it. I know who I am both on and offline. I'm pretty okay with things.
In the end though, if you take nothing from my long ramble take this...you get what you give buddy. No one is going to force you to be here but I would hope that you choose to stop creating topics like this and simply contribute to one of the many you've already created showing your extreme discontent for a site you've been a member of for less than 4 weeks.
To answer your question, Apple Discussions is an alternative to MacRumors. Go try that out.
