Your increase in speed has been impressive.

I'm pretty sure that my Nike+ went mad on the first mile (when I have to run downhill) to give me that mile time. Yes, I'm improving but there's no way in hell that I'm running sub-7 miles regularly. 8-9 depending on route and what I'm listening to is more like it.

Great job! I think since I started doing these challenges that you are the most improved runner - used to do 6- 15 miles a month and now getting in 25-30 miles - great work and keep it up!

Thanks... and for sticking with sending out those invites each month. There are always a few days in each month where I think that I can't really be bothered but I have a challenge to do so I have to go. And those 6-15 miles were mostly walking or a combo  and now they're all running :D

And yes, I'm closing in on 30lbs lost too this year. Thanks Nike+ ;)

I added scoharris and the others in the thread.

In the Run for Your Mac challenge the laptops are the only ones logged so far with the MBP beating the MB almost 2 to 1. I am sure there will be some more miles logged to represent the others soon.

In the TW vs the QC's the TW's are holding a little more than 3 mile lead at the outset without their captain at this time.

In the 2250 Challenge we are way behind ;) already, but I have a feeling we will be making up ground - to make it collectively we need to average 36.89 miles per day. So far it reads 29.09 on the morning of the 2nd. I think it will look more favorable on Monday...we will miss Twood's production there if it is getting tight. If so we will look for new folks to step up.

Everything seems to be off to a good start. Be sure to join up and represent your Mac and be sure to join the Macrumors team on the quest to hit the 2250 miles by year end. All are welcome.

I've had the last 3 weeks off with a knee injury:mad:
I'm running again from sunday 4th, so that's a couple of miles a day to get it closer to 36.89

thanks for the report ziwi!

all of those numbers sound good. i plan to go for a light jog this afternoon to test out my ankle, so hopefully i'll be back soon.

if there is anyway i can switch, i could join the mac pros instead of the mbp (since i have both). if we need to even it out more. (if this is even possible)

thanks again. and everyone, let's keep running ;)

I don't see how that challenge matters. It is whatever for whichever - it is like a report on who has what..;)

I would be more concerned about the vs. one, but I think the sides are quite even at this point. - in numbers - I am unsure about miles - time will tell - but it is all just an experiment. Making the challenges means you have to make enough choices for people to go in any direction.

I send out 50+ invites (fom folks who were in in the beginning to the monthly folks who want to be added, but the most who responded to any was 17 so far, so we need some of the runners from the past to return and compile miles.

All miles are good miles for you, your health and the challenges ;)

ok that's fine. i just thought it would look better if we had people representing each one. (like what if no one joins mac mini at all?)

yeah we need to get more people to join and all. i wonder what we could do?

thanks. :)

Hey, I thought the running was good, but the loss is a great accomplishment. Great work!

I know for myself I enjoy fitting in my clothes better and just the way I 'feel' - I think I have arrived at my 'ideal' weight since it has been steady for a few months even though I think I could drop 10 more, especially entering the 'bad' time of year. The less stress on the joints is a nice side effect as well.

Keep it up. See everyone - cause and effect - :) Run and drop pounds ;)

Hey, if you walk enough you can drop them too - sign up and start, especially now as we enter the over-eating time of year.

thanks for the updates ziwi. I'm about to head out and do what I can to help along the QCs/macbooks/36.89 miles per day. ;)

Not to mention that at only $29 for the nike+ kit (no, you do not need Nike shoes) - if you own an iPod it is a steal versus a gym membership.

But you need a Nano right? Everything I am reading makes it seem that way.

I'm a walker, a fast brisk walker, because the impact sucks on my knees for running.

I bought the Nike+ kit last night since people here said you can still use it and be a walker. I figured this would be motivation to get me out there, add a little geeky edge to it like web things to check on and I am more likely to be involved.

Though everything I am reading makes it sound like it is Nano only...which is fine, it gives me an excuse to go get a shiny new gadget too.

As soon as I get the nano I will work on joining your noble ranks!

yes, you do need a nano. hopefully that will change though

Well I used the nike+ id you listed - but it was not correct. I redid it with your email and it works - Nike+ is case sensitive for usernames - yours is scoHarris not scoharris - it should be fine now...

sorry i didnt realize it was case sensitive. thanks for the requests. i got them this time.:)

Doh!

I just went for a 10k run last night, only to find out my Nike+ kit was dead. First time I have tried to use it in about 2 months. Got a new one today, not sure if I have the energy to go tonight though.

well i finally got my ankle checked out today. it's a regular ankle sprain. i can run on it, just gotta keep icing and stuff.

I had one of those at the start of the CC season and it sucked, and in general this year sucked for me because of that and other things that happened that made my PR go really no where this year.

yeah it does stink. hopefully it'll get better quickly now though.

is your season over? are you going to state?

Good deal. Stay off uneven terrain though!

Do they swap it out for free if it dies within a year?
