I like finding old pictures I haven't noticed before. I'm like, all intense and stuff. You know.

I can only imagine what Lee will say

I've been after Heily for years. He resists me consistently. ;)

Here's a few of me on the ice. I'm the goalie, of course. Missing it a lot since I broke my foot. Can't wait to get back out there.

Can we assume you miss being a goalie? Not that you miss as a goalie (playing with a broken foot?) (Reading you post literally - and with tongue in cheek...)

Get better soon.... goalies are important.

Yep. I love the position. It's the only one I would ever play. It's a blast and you always keep learning. That's what I love about it, the constant challenge. You can always be better and learn more. All the guys I play with have been great since I got hurt- always checking in with emails and texts and helping out when I need to go grocery shopping and such. Great people.

Never played (to my regret), but one of my good friends plays goalie in a pickup league (when he's not injured) and another good friend's young son plays goalie for his school team. And I gotta say this....good goalies are a bit crazy (and I mean this in a good way - the world needs more people who are crazy in this way.)

So - get better, and get back to your team.

I've heard both "brave" and "crazy". I always have to remind people that they forgot to include "stupid". :) Injuries are common and numerous. I've had all of the following:

pulled groin twice
mild concussion
So many bruises and cuts that I could never count them all
broken foot

I'm sure there are many more to come. But damn- I've never had so much fun. :D

This was me on the final interview shoot for my urban exploration documentary back in May/June I think.

My hair is now short and original colour.

Do you have a link? I'd love to check it out.

Minneapolis is home to a very active UE scene. Check out Action Squad's site.

Enjoy :)

I'll preface just quickly, I was severely limited by what I could say and do because of university guidelines, I was almost kicked off my course because of this project, so if it seems a bit vague and tarring everyone under the same brush, it's only because my uni were so apprehensive about who I spoke to and how far down the rabbit hole I went...

Beautiful cinematography and great editing. Fantastic job. Did you use FCP and Color?

Thank you very much. I dabbled in using Color but felt it unnecessary in the long run for a doc and just used FCPs inbuilt colour correction and used my knowledge from PS toning to apply it to the doc. The colour toning was actually an ascetic consideration as it's often so prominent in urbex photography :) One of those silly little inside fact things really.

If anybody liked the music from it, that can be downloaded for free here: Leave Only Footsteps EP. I chose stutter edit electronica as the "percussion" stuttering sounded a lot like the cracking of glass under your feet, which occurs in most places we visited.

Now, back to the photos, any further questions, email me at BenKAdams@me.com don't clog up this thread with silly film questions :p

Hey Scthumple, that was a great documentary. Well shot and well edited, and it provided a good perspective of the why of UE without going so far down the rabbit hole that people wouldn't be able to understand it. I especially enjoyed the interviews with parents and the perspective it provided.

I did (and do) quite a bit of urban exploration myself, with more of a focus on buildering and parkour than strict exploration.
