I used to be into that. I don't get why people think it's dumb. Good grief, at least you get out and interact with real people, not stay glued to a screen playing WoW.. What was that Kyosho model they made like ten years ago or so? I wanted that so bad.. I know that's vague, but I forget the model name.
I understand why, it is funny seeing 20-50yr olds playing with toy cars. But hey, it's SERIOUS toy cars in which stock timing class goes 60mph+now (if on a big track)
You know what a bad crash can cost then
BUT I say my hobby is better than me going out and drinking like it was college. Shoot, I keep setup notes like I am writing a research paper! As far as the model you speak of? I do not know....sorry. Kyosho support in the USA is bad, and now even worse with their onroad side. Kyosho offroad parts support is decent.
Unfortunately I also do some video gaming to unwind after rc racing, airbrushing rc shells, biking, and troubleshooting OS 9 (still!) and X for the school district here. But yes, I have made a couple great friends in RC racing. I am actually VERY serious about racing these toy cars. I don't play with them in the yard or street. Without a track time to try to hit and shave tenths off of, I have no fun ;-)
