Welcome to 1997-2001.

OS 8 and OS 9 had so many problems from the previous versions that they were on the verge of being Windows Me. This video BTW came out in 2000, I remember downloading it on a G4 500 at High School. Most, if not all of his complaints were addressed by OSX.

Well I remebering seeing this videos when I was in HS which means it was well before XP and OS X. I want to say OS 9 and OS 8.6 where the norms. dating back then my experinces with macs (compared to windows) was that the macs just crashed more offen and had a lot more issues that windows computer didnt have.

blasphamy --- i had NO problems under OS 9 when i moved from Windows 98.

i remember running Photoshop 5.5 and Final Cut Pro 1.2 an it was AMAZING

fast, stable -- nothing like i had experienced under Windows 98 at the time

i've used mac since OS 9 and even if there was no 10 i would STILL be using a mac, and i could count the amount of times the system crashed on one hand in 4 years of use of os 9

most users didn't switch till OS 10 --- and this thing is rock solid --- i had one kernal panic in 3 years of using jaguar on a G4 400 , and i just upgraded to Tiger and a after market upgrade card and this thing is even more rock solid

those videos are funny but they don't have significant grounds.

it a complex machine ... nothing is perfect ... but the thing comes pretty damn close

- i hope this intel/binary fiasco doesn't prove me wrong
OS 9 was flakey as hell - I had to support it in a corporate network and it was more of a support drain than Windows. Thank God for OS 10. Just don't go throwing fire bombs at your nearest foreign embassy because of my comments...

All but one of the Macs at my College are STILL running OS9, even the last gen eMacs. They are a total pain in the ass, if you dare to scan a slide without first pressing the 'preview' button and waiting 5 ****ing minutes for it to preview it, you'll crash the computer.

I never have any problems on my Mac SE (still going strong!) and I didn't have any problems on an old OS7 desktop I used to have, OS9 was the pits. The only problem I get in OSX is when I pull out the modem before I let it finish disconnecting.

Hello, OS 9!

Is it just me, or does no one seem to know that you can turn off a Mac by holding the power button?
