AFAIK, the MVC Mac EFI UGA ROM for RX580 is 512k in size.

And the original RX580 is just 256k.
The chip is 4K,but otherwise due to protection only the GPU-z dupmed it, though I don't know if it is the full ROM.

My Sapphire Pulse RX580 isn't flashed. I thought it would be a big issue, since all my other cards are flashed, but it's been just fine. I'm not putting another $200 into a less-than-$200 GPU to get it flashed.

Got an MSI Radeon RX580 flashed by Macvidcards. They shipped within 24 hours from Poland. Everything looked clean and the included power harness was great. EFI works with DP1.2, which my previous flashed 7970 did not. Pretty happy with the result.

I was hoping that I was going to be able to say that I was 3 for 3 in successful dealings with Dave at MacVideoCards. But alas, prior to the pandemic mess I sent him a card to get flashed in late Feb. I have tried to be patient, sent him several follow-up emails. However, now my patience has run out and it is time for me to get my flashed GPU sent to me. So, I sent him an email to him this evening asking for him to send me my pre-paid, completed GPU.

As a matter of fact, things have been so hectic around my place, that it was good to get an email speaking about responses in this thread. I will be reporting back. I certainly hope with good news.

I am writing this reply on the last business day of the May. I have now sent several emails to Dave at MacVideoCards (MVC), and I have yet to receive any kind of reply. nothing..nada..zilch...Time permitting this weekend, I plan on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about the theft of the video card that I sent them, the flashing service that I prepaid for and never received. Since I sent my video card to MVC via USPS, I am also contemplating filing a theft report with the US Postal Inspection Service about the apparent theft of my property by MacVideoCards. I will post follow-ups as necessary. I would strongly suggest that members refrain from doing business with MVC.

I have purchased numerous cards from MacVidCards over the years from the US & Poland
  1. The US experience varies widely based on no rhyme or reason. Last year I sent two RX 280Xs in for flashing and did not hear anything back for three months despite mulitple emails. I initiated a refund for the flashing fees from Paypal as I was coming up to the three month limit and got my refund. Throughout the process, I reached out to MacVidCards and heard nothing back. A few months later the cards were sent to me unflashed
  2. I am running a MacPro 4,1 with a boot raid under Catalina and do not use Open Core - so I needed a flashed card. Reading through some of the better experiences other had, decided to have 3 more cards flashed- an RX 56, a RX 580 and a 280x. Same story as before - no response from MacVidCards in LA
  3. Did some online searching and it appeared that some users had luck getting a response from the team in LA via Marek, MacVidCards European's distributor. Reached out to Marek & was floored by how responsive and helpful he was. Through his intervention, I was able to get my RX 56 card back flashed. However my RX 580 is still with MacVidCards in LA, who has not responded to my queries
  4. In summary I would highly recommend placing an order with MacVidCards Europe via eBay. The service is exemplary and shipments arrive quickly. Alternatively you can take your chances and buy a card from MacVidCards in LA - but I would never send them a card to be flashed as you might never see it again.
  5. Threatening legal action has zero impact - and with what is going on with COVID, not sure local law enforcement will be able to help
It's a same as the core product is excellent - and what astounds me is how MacVidCards treats its customers despite the headwinds its business is facing (ageing MacPros, OpenCore). It's just sad . . .

File a complaint with the California Attorney General. That should get a response from Dave.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and responses. I did send a message to Marek (Spacedust), MVC's European distributor, unfortunately no response yet. I sent a message to PayPal, describing the whole fiasco. They were to send Dave at MVC a message asking for a response to my issue. I have still not heard anything from Dave at MVC in LA, or from PayPal. Though PayPal indicated that I have until 1 July 2020 to file a claim for the prepaid flash service of USD$79. I will likely do that in the next couple of days. However, MVC in LA is still in possession of my ~USD$200 Nvidia GPU !!

Majus, thanks for the info about the California AG, I am basically left with little recourse but to file a complaint about this theft of property and service. I will start that process before the end of the month of June.

At this time, I still have to warn other forum members: I would strongly suggest that members refrain from doing business with MVC (LA).

After spending close to five months trying to get my GPU returned, pre-paid flashing or not, I have reached the end of my patience with Dave at MVC in Los Angeles. I prepaid for their flashing service for the return postage for my completed GPU. I have attempted to contact Dave at MVC numerous times and have gotten no response. An attempt to contact Marek, their MVC Europe distributor, got me nowhere. I started the claim process with PayPal in an attempt to get my property and service returned to me. PayPal has yet to receive any response from Dave at MVC. PayPal gave me unit the 1st of July to file a complaint and leave it to their decision as whether I should receive a refund for the prepaid flashing service that I never received. But I still don't have my GPU back. So, for in light of the fact of an apparent theft of service and property by MVC, today I filed a complaint with California Attorney General's office against MVC. Optimally, I would like the flashed card returned, but now I will obviously settle for any refund as compensation for the service and property theft.

I would strongly suggest that members refrain from doing business with MVC (LA).

I ordered a instock Vega 56, taking bets for how long this will take?
Or if I will even get anything?
We shall see.

My ongoing saga with MacVideoCards.com (MVC) and Dave (likely one of the principal persons) continues. Yesterday, I was advised that PayPal has refunded me (and I have confirmed) the funds ($79) that I had originally sent via PayPal to MVC to flash the Nvidia GPU card that I had mailed to MVC in February. It seems that PayPal did their investigation and got no response from MVC, and therefore settled the complaint in my favor. So, I got refunded for the "flashing" service that I never received on the GPU card that I sent MVC. Now, I am still out the ~$200 Nvidia GPU card. I filed a complaint with State of California Attorney General's office regarding the product theft. In the AG's response letter, they said that they will attempt to contact the company (MVC) and request a response regarding this issue. Don't know what and if anything will happen from this point. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint with them, hopefully it will alert other potential victims of this company's nefarious business practices.

Let the buyer beware: I would strongly suggest that members refrain from doing business with MacVideoCards.com.

The problem with the BBB, is macvideocards is not a member.
Man you have to put a lot of work
Into being this bad.....
I don’t get it.
Still nothing on my order....
The card went out of stock, and came back in stock again.
But nothing so far....no email, nothing in the mail....
Nothing...

I am quite aware that MVC is not a member of BBB. As I indicated in my previous message, "I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint with them, hopefully it will alert other potential victims of this company's nefarious business practices." BTW, I did file a complaint with the LA BBB.

Well faith and begorrah, I got an email message from MVC today (dated yesterday), indicating that my "stolen" GPU card is being mailed back to me, the message included a USPS tracking number!! There is a Santa Claus and there is a tooth fairy!! I stated "stolen" I had basically given up on ever seeing my GPU again, due to MVC's abysmal customer service and total lack of communication. I mean, I only sent them the GPU on 18 February 2020 and it's taken MVC almost five (5) months to get any kind of message or response from them on 10 July 2020. Now, I wonder if they flashed the card??? Who cares !! I will just be glad to get the GPU back in my possession in working order.

I will keep you posted with an update upon receipt of my property. I hope that you hear something about your GPU's disposition.

To update this, 17 days after placing an order, on an instock Vega card, it was shipped...
I have no issue waiting, I do have an issue with not knowing what’s happening, I wait for custom guitar pickups from very high end winders sometimes for a year, but I know about the wait. And know what to expect.
Macvideocards should update that shipping is say a month out or what ever, and not say ships in 5 days.

in retrospect, I should have sent macvideocards in Poland a card, even if it took longer, he keeps you in the loop.
And answers emails.

shall see how the Vega runs...

Mvc? 24 hour turnaround?
Stunned!
Took 17 days to ship me an instock card?
I must not be with the “in” crowd?
