Im a writer for a gaming website, hadn't heard about this one but I also know that a "Companion" app will be coming out to track stats etc for the Xbox 360 and PS3 games

(Much like the call of Duty world at war companion app)

I'm really interested in the "companion" app for Madden. Any idea when it will be available?

hopefully it drops this week. the season starts on 9/10. this reminds me of the infamous late summer mms deadline. just because ea said that it will be out before the season starts, doesnt mean they have to wait until 9/10.

I just purchased this game about 30 minutes ago. So still getting used to the gameplay.

Having now played both Gameloft (not that Gameloft's NFL is bad; it's actually a pretty good game) but Madden 10 for iphone appears to be a better game. I'd rate Madden 10 as a 8.5 and Gameloft as a 7

Seems to have more plays. It's madden so most of us are familiar with the style although its on the touch screen. I think I hear John Madden on the commentary with Madden.

Madden is an easy game to play.

Not sure what the pricing strategy will be. But it's $7.99 till Thursday (Season Kickoff). But I assume EA will raise it to 9.99 for a few weeks and in week 4-5 EA will drop the price down to 6.99 like they have their other games.

Five games in, here's why this is better then Gameloft's try...

-It's built around a running game.
-The passing game is hard(as it should be).
-Trading players(even though you can trade anyone for anyone) Be fair:cool:
-Depth chart adjustments
-It actually uses real football rules. Pass Interference, ball stoppage, etc...
-Deeper controls.
-Opponents actually adjust to you. Unlike the other, you can't keep running the same play over and over.
-Playing defense is actually challenging. Interceptions, sacks, etc don't happen as often.
-After I won the Super Bowl with Gameloft, the game just ends. Lame. We'll see if this does, which I doubt.

I havn't finished a season, so we'll see about a draft and offseason stuff. Enjoy it!

re:Madden 10 for iPhone!

Here's my .02, and with a disclaimer: I'm a passionate EASports/Madden HATER. I haven't bought an NFL game other than AP2K8 since NFL 2k5. I play it each year so I can say I did, and go back to my updated rosters on my 360 and my 2k10 season. That being said.. .

The mobile version doesn't play like the console versions, and that's GREAT. I like how the passing game isn't a gimme. The CPU does adapt pretty realistically, so far as I play thru. Graphics better than 2010.

Here's all you need to know, and why you go buy this now: You take a pass play, you hit the Hot Route button, and you DRAW your receiver's new route, like on a telestrator or chalk/whiteboard. And it work's effin' AWESOME.

That is all.

Just finished a season. I played the Super Bowl, and just like NFL 2010, it ends. No season to season continuation, which completely sucks.

This is a really good first effort. I just finished a whole season and the computer even managed to beat me once 8-10 arghh and there were a couple of nail biters...

It isn't EAs best game (Tiger Woods is) but it seems really nice. The only thing I noticed was it doesn't seem to have a play clock so I could take my sweet time picking plays... Also, I wish they would do away with the fixed d-pad and just let me steer my runner from anywhere on the screen like Space Invaders Infinity Gene lets you do...
