Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro Order Status

Hi ! Ordered mine on Wednesday almost 3 hours after they were available (French, shipping to France).
My order went to preparing for shipment this morning and got the shipping notification 20 mn ago. And I just got a text from the delivery company saying I should get it on Monday.

Can confirm this works. My order had disappeared as well.

Yes, I currently use the old keyboard folio and it has the same fabric piece covering the hinge. It doesn’t look like it could fold back on itself, but it does. Not that I need it to, since then you end up with exposed keys on the back.

I do too, and I think it's possible that you're right. We'll just have to see I guess! It's not a deal breaker for me either way. I just think right now, with the information we've been given so far, I've seen NO evidence that Apple designed it to do that, and that might be why they're keeping the original Smart Keyboard Folio/Smart Folio on the market.

To me, it's not a big deal if Apple intends for you to remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard when drawing or writing. I actually think it's nice that they're so easily removed without having to wrestle them out of stiff clips or enclosures and potentially damaging the metal finish over time. The lack of side protection has always been a sticking point for me though, so I think the wrap approach is something I just need to do regardless. I'm ok with removing it when using it as a drawing/writing pad.

I was still hopeful we might get these tomorrow if they manage to get them out the door tonight but that’s looking very unlikely now. I really should stop checking this thread though!

Edit - mine is back to processing too, so looks like the iPhone SE pre-order has caused some issues.

Yeah, the checking your order number through your confirmation email works. On the app where I ordered, it said I had no orders as well. Through the number it says I can't change my order right now, and they got my payment.

Yeah, I decided to give up on it.
Thank God I have some tasks I need to do, so it will be easier. No matter what I do, it will not be delivered by tomorrow anyway, so I might as well wait for youtube reviews.
Hopefully, those will come soon.

Mine is listed as next Friday at best.. so i'll just kick back and watch any reviews that may pop up before then. No rush. :)
 
Order history cannot be displayed right now. Ordered at 4pm on 4/15. I checked using the order number and email and I’m at “Order Placed”

Anyone shipped yet? Wanna know what carrier Apple will use so I can check Informed Deliver/MyChoice/whatever FedEx calls their product
 
It's so crazy that one of these "where's my order" threads started over a new keyboard case. These threads are always so fun--one of the main reasons I come here.

My order recently flipped to "order placed". I usually see it go from "processing" to "shipped". I don't think I've ever seen an Apple order of mine listed as status "order placed". Weird.

My order also changed to “order placed”. Spoke to Apple care and they are saying that too many orders were placed contrary to expectations so they have dialed back shipping dates on some orders and are reassessing stock and will provide delayed updated shipping dates (the problem is for the US only. Europe orders are shipping according to existing schedule). They also said this process may take some time since their servers are currently overworked because of the SE launch.

I was going to follow up on my previous comment with something like this. Right now, Apple probably cares more about getting the SE out the door smoothly so other products, especially in light of everything will probably fall to the wayside.

My guess is that Apple wanted to be the good guy and be able to say “hey you know that keyboard we promised you in May? Well we’re 10 days ahead of schedule! You’re welcome.” (even if most customers probably will get it by the original target date.)
 
Apple customer care is unreliable though. I’ve received contradicting information from different executives plenty of times in the past so I would take this with a grain of salt.
