Ah well, you needed to be sure which size to get. I will say that this has affirmed my thinking that the 12.9” is definitely the size for me. I‘ve looked over it really carefully as I’ve heard so many having bubbling issues etc, but mine seems to be perfect And I’m so relieved. I’m now sure that the 12.9” is my favourite size. It was worth trying the 11” though as I’ve now confirmed that and I can stop wondering if I’d prefer extra portability over the screen size.
I can’t wait for my 12.9” MK to arrive now. Are you using skins on your iPP and MK?
I currently have a clear Best Skins Ever protector on the back and sides of my iPad. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to get a skin for the MK to protect it or whether it will actually damage it when it’s later removed.
I’ve ordered a dBrand skin for the back of my iPad. I’m unsure about the magic keyboard at the moment. Like you, I worry about removing it off the material. I will wait to see how other people get on.
You will like the new keyboard. It really makes my iPad feel fresh again. It is heavy, but I knew that before. With the iPad, it weighs about the same as my 13” MBP. The trackpad surprised me with how smooth and responsive it is. I’m okay with the size of it, but the 11” trackpad might have been a bit too small.
Your setup sounds great. The new dBrand skin and MK for your iPad will make it feel like a new device. I’m tempted to get a new skin for the back of mine, but I might wait until I sort out whether I should get one for the MK at the same time first. I’m not in a hurry since I already have the Best Skins Ever clear one on the back of my iPad.
I am expecting the MK to be heavy. I guess that initially I was trying to get away from that by trying the 11”, but I realised that the 12.9” was still the way to go for me, even if it adds more bulk and weight. I love the screen size of the 12.9”. The trackpad looks close in size on the 11”, so I think that part would be fine though. I think that there is less hand space on the 11”, but for myself, it really came down to liking the 12.9” screen size more and that I thought that I could have regretted a switch to a smaller screen. Sometimes that smaller screen would be nice, but for the majority of the time, I prefer the larger screen.
I’ve not had one before, but they seem to be one of the best brands and they are 3M. I’ve heard it’s okay to install, maybe use of a hairdryer, but i think it will be easier than installing a skin for the keyboard.
Hey thanks by the way! I hadn't come back to this thread until now. I wound up getting mine overnight from Verizon (after really digging around looking for it for a while prior) and it was a big relief. Especially since, as many of you are saying, the device is absolutely fantastic. Maybe my favorite Apple peripheral of all time.
The only drawback, despite the fair complaints about how much it weighs, is that perhaps it could be a bit heavier still just to avoid having it feel so top heavy. Has only happened a couple of times, but nothing feels sillier than feeling it just full on tip backwards in bed if you aren't careful to hold it down with the bottoms of your palms as you type at some lap angles.
Ordered in the UK (with US English Keyboard) on 11 May with an original delivery of "27 May - 3 Jun by Express Delivery". Perhaps the first time I haven't received an Apple product on or before the early delivery window date! Apple has spoiled us over the years with conservative estimates.
I ordered mine last week from Amazon (maybe Wednesday, but not positive), and received it today! It was actually showing it would arrive between May 28th and June 1st, so I was super excited to see it out for delivery.

Ordered 12.9 from Amazon on 5/23 and it shipped today to arrive tomorrow. Shortly before and shortly after I ordered Amazon was temporarily out of stock. I was lucky to get my order in.

11" AMK seems to be in stock with a lot of UK retailers all of a sudden. Zero 12.9" AMK stock though........damn it.

Keep an eye on Amazon. Was out of stock for ages but then just popped up back in stock. Got mine from there 3 weeks before my planned Apple order.

Just ordered mine today. What do you guys think of this delivery date? Usually Apple orders come slightly early for me.
For anyone in the US, Verizon has both sizes in stock with free 2 day shipping.
