After going through a set of batteries fairly quickly on my magic mouse I got some USBcell rechargeable batteries

When they run flat I sling them in a usb port to charge up. Works superbly!

Not related to battery life, but didn't think it needed it's own thread, but is the mouse meant to be so loud when clicking? It's very annoying...

I'm betting that Apple's engineers actually thought about the sound of the click and designed it to be as it is.

Personally, I find it very pleasant as an operational feedback sound.

How long to they take to charge?

How long to they take to charge?

According to the manual: 90%+ Charged after 5 Hours by powered USB.

The advantage of the usb is you can plug them in for a bit, whilst at lunch etc. To give you enough to get through the day, then plug them in over night for a full charge. They light up to tell you they are charging or full too. :)

I have some of those USBCELL batteries, and they work well.
My only problem is, after i turn the mouse off (or remove the batteries to charge them) and then back on, the iMac doesnt pair with the mouse again, it finds it in the settings, but cant pair with it. I have to use a USB mouse to reboot the computer... anyone else get this??

My original batteries only lasted 3 weeks or so. But I'm on my machine close to 16 hours a day. I'm on rechargeables now.

alkaline batteries last 5 weeks--is that normal?

I've had my 27" iMac since Jan 5. I just installed my 3rd set of Energizer batteries in the Magic Mouse. Use it about 6 hours a day. Is this normal?

I have had a Logitech bluetooth mouse that I use for my Dell laptop for at least 6 months now, and have yet to change the batteries (with comparable usage rates).

I don't know if it is "normal" but my Magic Mouse also likes to snack on batteries. Rechargeables help, but yes, I also wish it could last at least a couple of months on a set of batteries.
