I have the "old-fashioned" wired mouse from Apple as well as the Magic Trackpad. I've found the trackpad to be a dream to operate in every situation except for World of Warcraft. This is because it is impossible to hold down both buttons at the same time (necessary to steer and fly without the keyboard). If you aren't going to be doing any complicated gaming, the trackpad will be your friend for life.

Seems everyone is liking the Magic Trackpad. I didn't know it was that popular.

dont know i already find it to light and accidentally click quiet often , but maybe my hands are just not used to being that sensible
nevertheless i like the trackpad
and i have the magic mouse too , just order the mouse with the induction charger ..so much more practical not to worry about batteries as those always are empty when you most need them
hope someone comes up with a solution for the trackpad and wireless keyboard too ...but as apple does not offer a wireless keyboard with numberpad any more the later is not so important to me as i need to stick to the usb keyboard

I seem to be the only one who would suggest a normal mouse. They're functionally much better than any Apple mouse ever and more precise than trackpads for use in illustrator, photoshop, gaming, etc.

I second that, it's a wonderful app. The only downside is it's name.

Question on this app. I downloaded it and then found it in my download folder and am trying to open it. I see it there but when It try to open it, it does not do it. Is it because I dont have a track pad or magic mouse running (I currently have the mighty mouse) or am I doing something else wrong?

Thnx

Check the menu bar, do you see it there?

Trackpad is such an incredible innovation it would be very hard NOT to recommend it. I use the trackpad far more than the mouse, but I like having both.

I hate trackpads. They slow me down. I really hate trackpads on mac books. Never used the magic trackpad but I can't imagine liking it but I would still like to try it.

Love the Magic Trackpad, but haven't used a mouse in years. For those still using a mouse for precision, get a tablet instead - blows any mouse away. I have my Wacom tablet to the right of my keyboard, and the Magic Trackpad to the left - best of both worlds.

I really hope that there will be the option to get just the trackpad. I dislike the Magic Mouse and would rather have the Trackpad and some other mouse.

Also to the poster above who recommended a tablet: a mouse is still irreplaceable to many, I think gaming is the best example.

Also, when installing applications it's a good idea to, instead of keeping them littered throughout your hard disk, move the application to the Applications folder. It's in your root directory.

I really wish they would offer a choice between the Magic Mouse or the Trackpad instead of having to take the mouse by default and buy the trackpad separately...

Woohoo! I'm buying one of the refreshed 27 inch iMacs and was looking for this thread to get feedback regarding the Magic Mouse and Trackpad! Good responses.

Lucky me! Apple now lets one choose between the Magic Mouse or the Trackpad (with no extra fees).
:)
