Has anyone ordered the MagSafe Battery Pack?

I plan to order it after the reviews. If:
- it gives at least 60-70% of power to my Mini
- doesn’t make my mini hot when charging and using the phone
- magnets are quite strong so it doesn’t reattach that easily when putting in the pocket

I have an idea to dock the Magsafe battery on an Apple iPhone Lightning Dock - BOOM, instant MagSafe stand. Remove both for on the go Phone + Battery.
?

I don't think it'll work out of the box, since the phone will be lower than the battery - but there are ways around that!

I got a call from the Operations Manager at my local Apple Store. Apparently they were listed for in-store pickup by mistake and they can’t release the batteries yet. She told me they are trying to work with Apple to release them because she had several orders already but that I should not come for my pickup time unless they call me first, and they will call me when I can come pick it up.
And my status still says Processing and has not changed to Ready For Pickup. Also it now says on the product listing that Apple Store pickup is unavailable. So it looks like they fixed the issue… I think the release date is Tuesday even though I forgot to ask…

I know this is advertised with "reverse" wireless charging, but does it have regular wireless charging? Can you put the phone/pack combo on a charging pad, or is it Lightning cable only?

Just to update my post... I have to go tomorrow (Tuesday) anytime after 10am when they open to pick it up. But the manager said he would take care of me for the issues and error on their side. Again he said ti was an error on their end that the listing even showed up as available in store...

Just received mine in Sydney Australia.

Some quick observations:
  • Battery was 0% on arrival
  • The material does not feel the same as a white silicone case. It doesn’t have the same soft touch and is a harder type plastic
  • Very compact and snaps on satisfyingly to both a leather case and the bare back of the iPhone
  • The magnet attachment feels much stronger than the leather wallet
  • Same length and widthas the leather wallet but obviously much thicker
  • Weighs 115g, 11mm thick
  • Charged phone from 83% to 91% in about 30 mins. Seem to have stopped after reaching more than 90% as indicated in the notification pop up when you first attach it.

Could you test if it charges wirelessly as well. Attaching the MagSafe charger on the side that snaps to the phone.
I don’t want wires ugh, loved the wireless charging on the smart battery case

I mean if it supports reverse charging from the phone, it should charge from MagSafe as well. But I don’t see that info anywhere

Yep when you plug the iPhone into the charger via lightning, the battery pack gets charged wirelessly. Confirmed by this screenshot.

Appreciate the response.
Yes I’m aware of this functionality.
What I would like to know is if the battery pack on its own can be charged via MagSafe. Without any wires.
ie. battery pack not attached to phone but to MagSafe charger

Cool! I think the poster above was asking also that if the battery case can get a charge from a regular qi wireless charger if the side that is typically attached to the phone is rested on a regular qi wireless charger instead.
