Mail has a bug when using the application in full screen view. The blur/tint layer over the message list and message is extending too far down and covering the top portion. The columns display correctly when taking it out of full screen view and then returns when back in full screen. Screenshots of both below, Full screen first.

I didn't have this issue with 27 public beta 2, just started occurring with public beta 3.

I think I got the same thing you are talking about @adrianlondon when I first opened the Messages app, I force quit the app and when I reopened it I had it fixed the way it should be. Had HOPED that quiting Mail and relaunching or restarting would get it fixed but not for me. I even reset the top menu bar back to its default layout but that didn't fix it. I also noticed the problem was as bad if I turned icons and labels on which seems to account for some spacing but prefer no text so hope for fix next version I guess.

The iMessage bug will come back if you have pinned contacts, open one, then back out of that thread. It does for me, anyway.

Been chasing the same thing on my Mac Studio since beta 3. Confirmed the pinned-contacts trigger in Messages by removing them all, quitting, reopening — bar drew correctly, re-pinned two, and the overhang came back the moment I opened one of the pinned threads.

For Mail I found a temporary workaround that survives across restarts: with Mail out of full screen, go View > Hide Toolbar, then re-enable it, then go full screen. Something about rebuilding the toolbar geometry after the vibrancy layer is already in place gets the blur to stop bleeding down. Only breaks again if I collapse and expand the sidebar. Not a fix, but at least I can read subject lines again.

Almost certainly a NSVisualEffectView masking regression that hit both apps' unified titlebar layout — hopefully squashed in the next seed.

Thanks for the tip, this workaround didn't work for me for some reason, but yeah hoping for a new seed early next week since this has been a bit annoying.
