wow, my phone failed spectacularly yesterday. Nothing was working, couldn't turn on the screen at all. Then I was forced to go to DFU mode during a networking event. What an embarrassment. Suddenly, today, everything was fixed. No more lag whatsoever. What is going on Apple?!?!
You had to reinstall?

My Mail app is not delivering notifications (banners) even though I have everything properly set up. :(

I've seen Safari lock up like that in low memory situations. Maybe try it on a 7 Plus with 3GB or go back to iOS 9.3.5 until a more optimized and stable 10.3.x is released.

Doesn't seem like this is an issue for many in 10.0 with different devices (older or newer).

FYI,

I also have the same lag. It is so bad that I can barely use Mail now.
I have 10 plus email boxes too and have tried everything and it is still laggy, crashes to home screen at times, and locks up every now and then...it was fine on iOS9.

I have a 6 Plus.

Anyone know how to fix this? I really cannot even use Mail now because it just does not work...everything else is super quick, minus the complete freezes every now and then...

Mine still stutters every now and then, but it is way better than what happened in the video. Try holding the home button with the on/off switch together for a few seconds and let it restart. See if it will fix it.

I didn't reinstall. The phone was just completely dead. Nothing was working, it was kind of bricked?
But what happened when you forced it into DFU and then everything being fine later? When it's in DFU you need to install some supported version of iOS basically, don't you?

my iPad Air 2 has the same mail accounts and works fine on iOS 10....not sure why my iPhone 6 Plus lags so much...locks up, does not respond, and more. I have tried a hard reboot and did not help. Updating to 10.0.2 now...

Ok, I turned off some of the mailboxes and it's super fast now. It looks like once you turn on over 6 different mailboxes, it causes issues.

Having the same problem, I'm going to force dfu mode to see if that fix the problem, the lagging started the day that upgraded from iOS 9 to iOS 10, now I'm on 10.1 and the lag continues. Thanks for your video, it shows clearly my problem, maybe I'm using it wrong as well

There was a notification after the update telling me that a legacy app is causing my phone to slow down.
