Mail on Yosemite

I had minor problems with Mail in Yosemite, for instance, I could not delete messages in the Draft folder. When I tried, Mail would crash and when Mail reopened, the message(s) was still there.

That seems to be fixed in 10.10.1 and Mail works perfectly now. (Your milage may vary)

Like most of us, I have multiple email accounts, but to make things simple and efficient, I only create one account in Mail... an iCloud IMAP account. I then have all other email accounts forwarded to that one account. Mail has never worked better for me than it does now in Yosemite.

10.10.1 broke ALL my Mail

No incoming on Yahoo; occasionally sends an outbound from one or other of Yahoo, Gmail,...

They all work perfectly on my Android phone and worked up to and including 10.10.0

Connection doctor says all SMTP logins fail, IMAP login to Yahoo just a spinning cursor

Log full of error messages

Example:

"21/11/2014 14:23:08.766 Mail[2169]: CGContextScaleCTM: invalid context 0x0. This is a serious error. This application, or a library it uses, is using an invalid context and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system stability and reliability. This notice is a courtesy: please fix this problem. It will become a fatal error in an upcoming update."

Now, if I can read these, why can't the Mail developers?

As well as having problems with a non-working IMAP account in Mail, all my (±200) rules have mysteriously disappeared. All this has happened in the last week.

Also, iTunes randomly stops in the middle of playback and the whole computer is hellish slow - lots and lots of instances of spinning beach ball. Sometimes I can hear the hard drive spinning for many minutes at a time.

Thanks,
Ben

Failure to send email over Exchange- one possible cause

After installing Yosemite, I have had an occasional Mail problem where I can receive emails over Exchange but I cannot send emails over Exchange. I have seen other mentions of the same problem. In my case, the problem turned out to be trying to send an email with a corrupted address.

In Mountain Lion, when I tried to send an email with a corrupted address over Exchange, the email would immediately bounce back together with a warning that it could not be sent. In Yosemite, there is no warning. Rather, the email with the corrupted address is held in Outbox and all subsequent outgoing emails queue up behind it rather than being sent. The only "fix" is to keep checking to see whether there are any outgoing emails in the Outbox.

Ok - I have been using Yosemite only for a couple of months now. I waited,, hoping the bugs would be gone. But I am having an annoying problem with Mail 8.2.

I have four email accounts that I monitor, three are Gmail IMAP and one is a verizon POP account. Everything was working fine until a few days ago when all my Gmail accounts failed to login to the Google servers. I finally deleted all the account and reset them all up using the built-in Goggle account setup.

This seems to have fixed the falling off line until the AM when my primary account was off line again. This account provides a cross platform conduit for Contacts, Calendar, and Mail. I once again deleted the account and reset it using the Mail setup wizard.

That is problem one, but on the same Gmail IMAP account in mail now whenever I click on an new email to view it I get and error "An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox “(null)”. It only happens on this Gmail account the other two account work fine as does the Verizon POP account.

Anyone know a fix?
