Just got the white flowers. Built the castle screen exactly as shown in the picture of a kingdom past. Nothing, not even a message.
In case anyone is wondering, the white flower patch can't be purchased from the shop. It has to be redeemed in the my Nintendo reward.

I'm glad I found this post because I didn't know the different characters perform any different, I'm going to have to try a new character and see if I can get any more of those darn black coins.
